So the same weekend we started vaping a friend started on those champix tablets ? talking to her today she said she's off out to a party this weekend and knows she'll be tempted to smoke as she's given up on the tablets and is doing it on her own .. she's already had the odd fag. So I said she could borrow one of my spare batteries and clearomisers and lent her a juice too - 'just in case' she gets the urge ?
Not worried that I will never see them again as I know she'll return them - just worried if I've done the right thing as if she's trying with the tablets should she be vaping - will this encourage her back to nicotine ? I just thought if she was tempted and got the urge a vape would be better than a stinkie ??

wibble said " would she be better (with a e-cig) than a stinkie ??" YES She's already had the odd one, we all know that slippery slope kidding ourselves that we can just have the odd one, then before you know it you're back to the stinkies full time. So therefore it's better that she vapes rather than smokes, so you did the right thing IMO.

Same as DiscoDes - if the champix is not working and she's struggling you did the kindest thing you could... You let her try vaping with a decent piece of kit Good on you Tis not nicotine that's the killer remember or even the crime

and also at this stage on her stopping I think she has no chance of overdoing the nic so don't worry about that wibble when I first went onto vaping I don't mind telling you I never put it down I had it in my hand at meal times I took it to the loo (not recommended) but I couldn't put it down vaped it 21 hours a day constant as I only sleep 3 hours a day and I was vaping 2.4 nic so if it helps her you have done a good deed

Nothing wrong in taking your kit to the loo ronaldo. Does away with any need for air fresheners. Ecological really.

Like your friend I also tried champix and thought I could have the odd fag at the same time. Needless to say it didn't work and I ended up smoking again. If it was my friend I would encourage them to stop the champix and buy an ecig of some kind. For me vaping is the complete answer. All the good bits of smoking but much better flavours and negligible health risks. Yes you did absolutely the right thing

+1 with DiscoDes on this one wibble, yes, you most definitely did the right thing. Champix has all sorts of nasty side-effects, so problably just as well she's come off those, and if she's already on the edge of smoking again, then something to vape is by far the lesser of the two evils. Who knows, you may have another convert!

Champix is nasty stuff, google it... it causes feelings of depression and, now don't get anxious but some people have topped themselves on it. A friend of mine quit using Champix but was back on the stinkies 6 months later so it's not even a solution to smoking. I'd recommend getting them to gradually tail off using them, in consultation with their doctor - not a 'Stop Smoking Advisor' those people have an agenda - till they're clear of it, then start them on vaping before the urge to grab a stinky comes back. Safety first, as always.

I agree with all that has been said. My grand daughter recently stopped smoking cold turkey but was going to Bali with smoking mates in the Uni break and requested some zero nic mixes plus simple kit which I was happy to supply. Awaiting the verdict as she's not back yet but none of her posted pics have cigarettes in her hand.

Those Champix tablets are nasty im not surprised she stopped taking them. She will be ok to use an e-cig, as she has stopped taking them already. They are supposed to cause nausea if you smoke while taking them, but my friend took them and smoked all the time while he was on them with no ill effect. Its better she has an e-cig to fall back on if she needs to.

She's better off not using champix. I tried them and ended up in hospital for five days with hives all over my body. Just one of their lovely side effects.
