I introduced my son to vaping and set him off with an ego kit etc etc etc. He is in the police down in Pembrokeshire and uses his vape during working hours (but still smokes stinkies other times but we are working on that) and they had an email banning them from charging ecig batteries at work........in case they explode numpties out there don't help matters do they?

He's lucky, we aren't even allowed to refill clearos in our nick, just in case. No one can answer me in case of what though.

He's lucky, we aren't even allowed to refill clearos in our nick, just in case. No one can answer me in case of what though. It's really annoying that people uphold rules and never challenge them.I have ALWAYS been the one asking the questions , like "why are we doing this ? " and " why aren't we doing that ". Now I don't work as a Police officer , I'm a plumber most of the time on building sites , and they say you can't smoke on site , that's fair enough , and when I ask if they have a vaping/ecig policy , they normally look at me as if I've come from a different planet and this is normally the site manager , then they say the classic type of comments, like " It's the same as smoking so you have to go to the smoking area" or my personal favourite so far " We don't allow that on site, but you can smoke in the designated smoking area".
It's this kind of LACK of education that needs to be addressed , I'm not just talking about the workplace , although some jobs even I don't think it would be appropriate to vape in , like schools and hospitals , but education is the key here.I would say that 99% + of the nation have no idea what E-Cigs or vaping are let alone what they put out and everything else about them.Even most HR departments just Google it then come up with the BS that spread with NO proper scientific evidence or scientific evidence that has no relevance or just plain lies.Until such a time where vaping education is in the mainstream and scientific evidence that is relevant by a totally independent source we are on an uphill struggle , but the fight is worth it for what we know is the right thing for us and our and everybody else's health.

Montana I absolutely agree with that. It's all about......education. People, especially those who make decisions, need the correct facts....not fantasy, not guesswork nor any other myths. I also think that maybe if ecigs were rebranded as PVs things would get a whole lot easier. The ecig label is useful to encourage smokers to switch.....but after that it seems to be a hindrance. If anyone asks me, I say it's a PV, don't use the 'cig' word at all. I'm not smoking, I'm vaping. It's a bit like saying........you can't drink coffee here cos we don't allow alcohol......... Education, true facts and maybe some good, ethical supported medical research might just start to balance it out? Not that I think PVs should be a medical product, they absolutely should be kept OUT of the big pharma companies hands (and the tobacco companies for that matter) but research showing the medical benefits and no harm of PVs might help the dimwits who can't be bothered to find out for themselves? As for banning charging, filling tanks and other such rubbish, I notice these places don't ban charging phones, tablets etc and they are just a likely to explode......it's a battery thing, and fails happen. dickyg it might be worth explaining that when we fill our tanks we don't spill it.........it's far too valuable to waste
