I thought all SPARE batteries had to go in the hold, I actually had 2 sets of 4 AAs and 2 sets of 4AAAs confiscated in Egypt, they were spares for my camera & MP3 player, I was told the ONLY batteries in had luggage were to be ones in actual use, all the rest should have been in my case. He took the lot. This was 4 years ago I must add He wanted your batteries for his own mp3 , normal batteries can go in the hold, but spare Lithium batteries have to be isolated (in those plastic cases case will do) and carried in hand luggage only.

For those saying they will put stuff in the hold... I called my local airport last year and they told me not to put stuff in the hold..reason.. If anything pops up on the xray machine that they are unsure of and what it might be they will come looking for you to open up your bag...that delay could mean you missing your flight, i was told to keep it in my hand luggage so if there was any questions i was obviously there to answer..... in all fairness i think most airports are clued up with what they are, however... i did get stopped last year in Croatia with a mod.... they were fine once i showed them what it did,... i keep juice in unmarked bottles and now take ciggylikes whenever i fly....not had a single problem since.

You probably have to be ready to vape. In fact, to be absolutely sure, you should vape all the way through check in and on the way to lift off, so the security staff can see that you're using an ecig. The things we do for national security

I flew to Rome on Monday and back to Bristol on Friday only with hand luggage - had 4 ego batteries and my itaste battery in a glasses type case, 5 Clearomizers full of juice in another glasses case and 2 bottles of juice in a small plastic bag with my toiletries - took it all out of my suitcase and put it in the trays with phones etc, they didn't even really look at it.

Virtually the same. Flew to Nice from Manchester and back and had my mech in a soft case. Nobody bothered me.
