does anyone know what the score is now with ecigs and batteries under the new airport regs regarding "items must be charged". ie i will have mvp charged and using, provari plus 4 batteries charged but not in mod and possibly a touchwood plus 2 batteries not in the mod. are they going to want me to show every mod working and show every battery working?. i realise it wont be as complicated as that but what is happening?.

It's only hand luggage, so only applies to whatever you plan to use in any smoking/vaping area at the airport and your stealth device.

I was wondering exactly the same thing.
I don't think it will affect mods that take batteries, as they can see inside the tube, but it does have me wondering about batteries such as mvp, ego, twists and spinners.
I prefer to take them uncharged apart from the one I am using, as I feel safer, but perhaps now they have to be charged so can be seen working.
The whole thing is a farce really, they are going to supply chargers and sockets for everyone to charge things up. Can you imagine the delays - a family taking through a laptop, 3 mobiles, 3 I-pads, each one has to be turned on and shown working at security.

Only vaguely heard about this but do you have to prove they work then? So you have to have a vape in front of an official in the airport to check its not a bomb? doesn't sound bad, one last vape before get to the plane ...and turn your phone on, laptop, brush your teeth etc etc..... this could slow things down a bit

E- cigs have not been mentioned I do not think although I could be wrong, but they are an electronic device that could be a bomb

this whole thing has just been setting the mood - prior to forcing through the snoopers charter. The threat risk has been always going up and down at airports almost daily since Lockerby and it only gets mentioned normally when their is a specific threat associated. Spot checks on battery powered devices have been happening for years. The whole thing is a non story, being pushed out because of a lack of scary stories around at the moment to help push parliament in the right direction.

I'll just carry 1 spinner + PT in my hand luggage + batteries (in cases) for my mods in my hand luggage. Everything else will go in the hold. I can't see it being a problem. I shall lay my ego & batteries on top of whatever I put in the tray to go through the X-Ray machine in Security so it shows I am not hiding anything.

I thought all SPARE batteries had to go in the hold, I actually had 2 sets of 4 AAs and 2 sets of 4AAAs confiscated in Egypt, they were spares for my camera & MP3 player, I was told the ONLY batteries in had luggage were to be ones in actual use, all the rest should have been in my case. He took the lot. This was 4 years ago I must add
