I was simillar with cotton, i felt a harshness in the back of my throat that i never got with anything else... personally i dont agree with the use of cotton, plus a couple of videos on youtube showing what comes off it and how it turns to ash when its burnt cemented my decision to go back to silica... i also think it tastes better tbh... not flavour wise...but cleaner wise, it would be interesting to know where the idea of using cotton came from, if it was from some youtube wiz kid it would be even more reason to stay off it..... each to their own tho i guess, but even if there is some sort of wonderful and world shattering flavour difference between cotton a silica i cant taste it ...so im sticking with whats pretty much tried and tested...

This is one of the videos in question.... fast forward to 3.30 if you want... but it does give food for thought, Im not saying its wrong to use it, i mean some people's bodies agree with PG some dont and its the same with VG... it may be down to the person in question... so who knows.

If your getting a harshness in the back of your throat off cotton wool it's likely that you've burnt it. As you so CW burns very very easily so you have to ensure it's all completely saturated before vaping CW may be a newer wicking material than silica but I'd also say CW is tried and tested. some people get an itchy throat off silica too so it's trial and error what works best for each of us.

Have you ever thought you might just have a tickly cough ? Or hayfever? Common symptoms - these include a runny and itchy nose, a blocked nose, sneezing, itchy and watery red eyes and an itchy throat....

Ok so not long ago I popped a post on asking if anyone has had any adverse reaction to using cotton wool.
I have no clue where that thread is lol, but basically not long after I started using cotton wool I developed a tickly cough. It started off waking me a couple of times and got to the stage I could not sleep at all for it. After my post I went back to using normal kanger coils, and the problem didn't go away but got much better.
A few days ago I was given some microcoils, threaded them with cotton wool and have not slept for 3 nights due to a tickly cough.
So my question is - what can I buy to thread through my microcoils other than cotton? You are not Dimitris the VapingGreek of VapeTeam fame can't use cotton at all, here is a link to one of his latests videos a bit about Rayon (call to davetherayon) and he mentions the cotton prob at 21 mins

I'm having similar problems. However, I believe it's linked with my hay fever that's reoccurred since I stopped smoking. I bought a rebuildable recently, and coils I wick with cotton wool or the Rico sample I was given do tickle for a while after use. CW is the worst of the two. But with the silica I'm fine and dandy. Ah well, time to try Rayon. Don't need any other excuse now
