Barmy, but unsurprising. I suspect no small amount of shill bidding on that item.
I've seen similar in e bay auctions for collectible razors, though not quite on that ridiculous scale. One rare-ish Gillette razor went for nearly £600 last year, which ain't bad considering it would have cost about one shilling and sixpence when it was made in the 50's.
