I don't ever wash an Iclear16 head, or dry burn them shez . . . vaping through a flavour change doesn't bother me. The most I do if I'm feeling energetic with a new flavour, is to rinse the tank out and give the wicks a pat with some kitchen towel to absorb any old eliquid.

Don't get burnt tastes either, but I don't let the eliquid levels get very low and turn the clearo upside down every so often to make sure the coils are kept well saturated.

Maybe a higher ohm head will help you if you're getting a lot of that, if you're using a VV/VW device, you can always turn the setting up to compensate. Or turn it down with your current heads.

Have you thought about replacing the silica wick with a cotton one? It eats juice but tastes better than the stock head
