Hi all,
I met a member of the forum when he and I were holidaying in Belgium, I saw " Brambles" walking towards me smoking, or should it be vaping, and a conversation ensued. I never previously considered vaping but following a chat I am determined to see if it will overcome my 50 year habit. Any advice is welcome in my search for the right equipment to begin vaping.
best wishes to all
David

taildj - hi and a warm welcome! You certainly bumped into the right person You will get loads of suggestions over the next few hours, but I would recommend having a look at www.myepack.co.uk and in particular THIS ONE. The batteries and Evod clearomisers are both compatible with other batteries and tanks, and all you would need to buy in addition is some juice. The Dekang liquid is a respectable place to get started on the same site, so postage costs are saved, and I would suggest that you get a bottle of 18mg and also one of 24mg. This way you can experiment with the two different strengths, mixing them together if you want to. Be brave and go for some different flavours too, even ones that you don't think that you'll like. Tobacco flavours don't usually do the job, and with such a great choice available, get adventurous! You will probably go through about 5ml of juice per day to begin with, so budget accordingly. With the starter kit and some juice you'll soon recoup the expenditure within a couple of weeks, and apart from replacement atomiser coils ('heads'), and some more juice, you are sorted. Ask away if you have any queries, that's what we are here for

David. There will be many suggestions for starting out, and your collection will possibly grow and grow. I'll let others suggest gear - but I started, from a 3-4 oz drum/week with 2 ego batteries, a couple of (rubbish) ce4/ce5 clearos, couple evods, and various 18 & 24mg juices. To this day, I have never vaped a baccy flavoured juice. I've changed my gear, and now vape 7.2mg homebrew juice using mech mods and kayfun style devices. Enjoy your time here, no question is stupid, and most importantly, enjoy vaping.

Hi taildj and +1 on the recommendation chykensa made. The EVOD is a good quality kit that gives a good vape.

aboard taildj. The advice chykensa has already given saves me having to give it. Will give you a good start and help you avoid the cost of going through all the ego's. My one word of advice is - PATIENCE! Oh, and never let a single bad experience distract you from your goal.

Welcome, David... taildjfrom, David. Nice story to hear a forum member sent you here, that's what we like - real life CULT kidnapping recruitment. Get yourself a nice e-cig and away you go. I like the iTasteVV from myepack and mini Protank 1 or 2. mini Protank 3 is a useless piece of under-performing junk i.m.o.

Hi taildj David and a very warm from me too As others have said Myepack is a great vendor and their starter kits are great value for money. The only other piece of advice I'll offer is don't fall into the trap of seeing something much cheaper on fleabay or amazon and thinking they look the same so will be the same. There are a lot of unscrupulous sellers that peddle inferior goods, so try to stick to vendors on this list, many of which have discount codes as well, although Myepack doesn't have a dissie code as their prices are rock bottom already Most importantly, don't put too much pressure on yourself to stop smoking as soon as you start vaping, many people, myself included, spend a fair bit of time "dual fuelling" until they find the set-up that suits them. For me, now, I cannot stand the taste of a stinky and can't ever see myself starting to smoke again

Echo all the advice. Great piece of kit the first chap/chappess said for you to get. Believe me you can do this...
I was a hardened 1 oz a day of rolling tobacco smoker for over 10 years. Tried all the NRT known to man. Began vaping on inferior kit to what has been suggested 3 years ago. It was good but I wasn't getting enough nic. I duel fuelled (part cigs/part e-cigs) for 3 months and then found happiness in the form of strong juice.
In 3 years I've had no chest infections and only about 6 or 7oz of tobacco when I've lowered my nic concentration too fast....
Believe me you might have to play around a little with the e-liquids finding out what suits you best but also believe that no question on this forum is too stupid and you can do this!!!!

Hi David! and welcome from another newbie, I can't comment on kit but I can about the tobacco juices, as a 20 a day man plus roll ups for the last 50 years the first thing I did was go for the tobacco juices, that lasted two weeks the I tried the flavoured ones, my thoughts were if I was going to give up cigs and put a big stick in my mouth it should at least taste like cigs but without all the c**p in cigs, for me all these fruit juices and others were meant for eating not Vaping, I havn't seen it mentioned yet! but this lot here told me about taster bottles 5 or 10ml bottles, and very cheap so you don't waste money, I gave up cigs 8 weeks ago and havn't touched one since, I loved smoking and reckon that if I can give up anyone can,, I worked out that in the 8 weeks I've saved £406 without the additional cost of the 50gr of rolling tobacco I was getting through, and spent well under £100 on Vaping stuff and juices,,,
