It sounds like the threads are going on the zmax. If they are fine on a different device, you could try attaching a airflow control to the zmax and leave it in place (or a 510-510 adapter). That'll work if the threads haven't degraded too much. If they have gone to the point that nothing will stay in place, it may be time to retire the device and go shopping! I should say that the ego thread on the zmax will still be ok of you've just been using 510 connections, so you could still use it with ego threaded tanks like mini aerotanks, evods and mini protanks.

Just been talking to summerof0763 about this via PM, and went to send her a link to the old Protank air flows, only to find that no one stocks them any more -.- VE Jason - I think I got mine from you about 7 months ago, it was the old one that screwed on to the mod, not the new one you now have listed that replaces the pt base. Any chance you still have an old one lying around for summerof0763? If not does anyone have one that they don't use any more, or know of somewhere that still stocks them? I sent mine on with my evic when I sold it to help protect the threads on that, as it was starting to suffer the same issue.

summerof0763 Yes it sounds like the threads on the zmax are wearing out. Here is a link to airflow you need 510-510 airflow You can put them on like in the pic below which is mine and tighten them down so they don't unscrew when you change tanks over.
Try to look after the threads until you get it, if they go to far then this wont work either.

These are the original airflow control rings - is that what you mean? www.vapeescape.co.uk/Vaping-Spares/Accessories/Airflow-Controller.html?cPath=7_16

Yes if you screw it on finger tight then use something with a flat edge, like in the pic above, and give it a 1/4 turn to tighten it down, it should stay on so it doesn't unscrew when you take the tank off. If it unscrews every time you take the tank off, then the airflow will continue to ware out the threads just like the tanks have.

TBH most atties can be re-filled without un-screwing the atty base out.

If the airflow doesn't screw on, or wobbles, it means the zmax threads are too far gone and you'll need to invest in a new mod. icon_shoppingm
But fingers crossed it should work!
