I think I was one of the first to send jonco some of my "hard earned" for some re-wicked/coiled Kanger heads when he first offered the service over on UKV.
I duly posted off 4 Kanger heads to Jon having made my payment via Paypal for £7.25, which included the postage back to me.
I have to say that I was disappointed when I got them back.
When I tried the first one, having pre-soaked the wick, there was a definite burnt taste. I decided to re-wick using the organic cotton wool, also supplied by Jon as part of the package.
It became immediately clear that there was no way the old cotton was going to come out of the coil, and I ended up pulling the coil through the slot in the side of the head.
I took a second re-wicked/coiled head and decided to re-wick before it was used and had the same problem ending with the destruction of the coil.
Having had a conversation/discussion with Jon via PM, he told me that he was developing a newer version that would fit different Kanger heads along with "beefing up" the coil by using thicker wire.
I received the new version a couple of days ago and have been having a play with it. So here are my thoughts and views.
The first picture shows from left to right:- The original Jonco coil, a Naturevape Coil and on the right, Jonco`s latest version

Resistance
With the blue silicon removed for use in the Naturevape Pro
It would appear that this latest version of Jon`s coil/head ticks several boxes, as it fits all the Kanger tanks along with the Naturevape Pro just by adding or removing the blue silicon spacer.
I have used it in both the NV Pro plus the Aerotank and I have to say it has worked great in both.
The new coil is nr/res/nr and measures out at 2.19ohms. I tried it on a "Spinner" from 3.3v up to 4.8v without a problem
I have also tried it on my VTR and at 13watts it works great although I did start to get a burnt taste at 15watts so I will re-wick it using some Rayon kindly supplied for free by
davetherayon, this will hopefully wick faster and allow me to go up to the full 15watts.
The
Virtual Vape coil definitely works as well as my NV coil, as to the longevity, time will tell.
At £2.75 for a complete new head, it is a lot cheaper than its competitors.
Would I bother sending him my old heads to be upgraded.....probably not, because for £1.25 more, I can get a brand new one from Jon and of course I don't have to pay postage to sent the old heads to him.
I hope in the future that Jon will make lower ohm/thicker wire coils available.
This coil was sent to me as a replacement for the originals that I destroyed and Jon has offered to send me another couple to make up the difference.
Well done Jon for offering something that will help those who struggle with re-coiling along with those that just want an inexpensive faff free replacement service.
