Hi all, I am looking to buy a box mod and want to spend £70 - £100. Been looking on the web and there are so many to choose from. I am looking for a top quality mod. Not too bothered about fancy features, just want a mod with top build quality.
Any help would be appreciated!

can't go far wrong with a Innokin VTR Been looking at those on the net. They seem to get good reviews but they look a bit "plasticy". Are they well built?

With your budget, the VTR will probably be around the best box mod you're likely to get, unless you get one of the more custom built mechanical box mods from the semi-pro mod makers. I believe the VTR's are heavy, made with a chunk of metal. Good quality no doubt. But restrictive on low ohm coils.
Up the budget to around £150 and you're in the realms of the SoulVaperBaby mods on UKV, and you'll get the DNA30 circuitry. Or you could get one of Bish's (there are others) SX350 box mods, again with quality circuitry.
Unless you can find one second hand, your budget is a little shy of a top quality regulated box mod (DNA / SX). Mechnical boxes "may" be closer to budget, but some of them are still quite expensive too.
Or check out piper's sales in the classifieds on here. He has an 18350 and 18500 left for £25 each.

not at all plasticy very well built, they are heavy and sturdy. mine is stainless steel bit of a finger print magnet but there is a green version is not so much of a finger print magnet, but the 510 thread can wear out so it's advisable to get an airflow controller to go on it so you don't use the 510 thread. www.vapeescape.co.uk/Vaping-Spares/Accessories/Airflow-Controller.html?cPath=7_15 The tank has protection from the bars, and i've heard people have dropped it several times and no damage to either the vtr or tank not that i'm saying drop it and find out, The VTR is well liked on here.

What do you use now, at what power level and atty diameter?
The VTR is a good alternative to Vamo, Zmax, eVic, ect if you don't mind medium-high power and not being able to have a 22 mm atty. The IPV V2 is a possibility if you want more power (50 W £70), but its early days with these so would be a bit of a punt (some issues reported, many love it). If you can solder you could get a clone Hana box kit form FT (<£13) and get a real DNA30 form StealthVape (£42) or BarginVapour, a charger board form BarginVapour and better wire off eBay which would give you a very good mod well within your budget. Also look for DNA & SX box mods in the classifieds.

Vtr is a totally solid mod. Its all metal and you can tell when hou feel it. I use mine daily, used to be with the aerotank but then I modified it by removing the ring and putting my kayfun on it. Its undergome numerous drops and lived everytime. My preference is the army green as the SS is a fingerprint magnet lol. If you do decide to get one male sure its the v2. The v1 can have problems with the spinning 510 connector

Thanks for all the replies! The vtr is sounding like the best bet so far.
What do you guys make of the new Hana Modz DNA 30 Clone? They look pretty cool but not sure about the reliability of clones...
Never had a clone so quite dubious...

IIRC Steve (VapeStorm) had the best/cheapest deal on a VTR in the UK, and if you look at his posts he he is not trying to use the forum to flog stuff, just gives his honest opinion, you can tell as members like him which I'm giving him a plug and you can come here and shout at him if thing go wrong (please don't). Sub 15 watt the VTR is the only player i can think of with a swappable battery (makes things cheaper and easier IMO). Its just the skinny tank thing( <= 20 mm I think Innokin should do a 22.5 mm one) that I object to (you can use the includes adapter for any size atty). Even @johanino hasn't broken one in about 3 months IIRC. (that was far too ling a post for what I was trying to say: if you want a VTR go to Steve (VapeStorm)) E: two posts while i was typoing
