I think you'd have to rip the innards out and start again if I'm honest as the glued/resin part seems to be holding all the workings together. Although this wiggles quite freely with a small screwdriver shoved down the side. Not that I know anything about anything like this, I hasten to add . . . I'll go take a picture . . . no worries if it's not doable, very kind of you both to take the time to look. Underside picture of the gubbins.

From the picture it looks like the threaded section is metal glued into the body and it may be that has to be removed to get the innards out. I say that because if I was to make it I would make sure the innards were the full width of the tube and the threaded part would help keep things in place and stop them falling out.
That may make it a bit tricky to get it apart since the threaded part is probably glued all the way round and acrylic is not something that can be bullied into submission without cracking.

I get what you're saying Verey, there's also a metal screwy part on the bottom piece . . . I think it's the resin disc thing that's holding everything in place as I can feel bits moving when I wiggle it.
I'm more than happy if either you or Steve were to have a go at it, it doesn't work as it is . . . so if it still didn't work after, I'd be no worse off.

actually although that looks like glue (epoxy resin) by the looks of it thats just a pcb board and should be removeable possibly by means of desoldering the connections?!? - the pcb here is for the gold rush and looks similar at the top to what you have - not saying it isn't glued into place but it's possible that's the pcb www.madvapes.com/-Round-Interconnect-Circuit-Board_p_2765.html

No problem - if it were me making it i'd have a connection from the centre of the battery connection on top of the device in place so that i could epoxy the connection in place connect the pcb with solder and it wouldn't drop out and the battery connection wouldn't spin -- the loose conection may even be solder on the pcb - are you close by me perpetua i havez d solderin ironz!

Here you go actually it looks really easy to repair Perpy... the pcb is smaller than the screw thread (which makes it simple to pull apart) and is either propped up in there or held with a bit of glue how to build instructions

Huge thanks to you as well Gordy. xx Sadly I'm on the outskirts of Bristol Warlord, but thank you for the very kind offer. It does work if I poke about with the disc, so I'm guessing there's a loose connection somewhere. Edit to say . . . not that I have a clue really.

Perpetua it may well be that the solder part in the center of the disc has worn down a little as thats what makes contact with the battery nipple or it might be as you said something come loose inside shouldn't be too hard a fix for someone who's a little handy with a soldering iron

Now we have the build diagrams it really should be a fairly easy fix since its all designed to assemble (disassemble) easily.
I can have a go if you want - its something to do in these long winter nights.
Can't guarantee a speedy fix though considering the season and upcoming postage slow down.

Wow, a glut of helpful men. I will include Blakey in that. Shall I send it to Verey . . . I'm only thinking that I could be working on the days you might visit Gordy, as I do weekends.
