I would highly recommend either the HTC one or the newer HTC M8, fantastic build quality with excellent camera (esp the M8) great size screen whilst still being comfortable in the pocket. Supports flash and the HTC sense works really well without being overly intrusive whilst navigating/syncing. 2 things that put me off an iphone are price and screen size, I'm always on my phone and a slightly bigger screen makes a massive difference IMO

I got the HTC One M8 a couple of months ago. I've not been disappointed with the performance yet and it has a much better battery life than my previous phone (Note 2)

Bought Mrs fred a Star 9500, from Amazon, for Christmas. Its basically a Samsung galaxy s4, but a LOT cheaper. She put it next to an s4 at work, and looks about the same - the lad said her fone was snappier! Lasts her nearly two days, but came with a spare battery anyway. Do some research, buy a decent China phone rather than a branded one and have money left for shinies. Alternatively, buy a new battery for your current phone. we have a 3 contract, had it for years i don't pay a thing hubby does lol edited to add it's the only company that actually works where i live, we often have fun laughing at visitors who try to get a phone signal using 02 or vodaphone,

The worlds only indestructible phone!!! On a serious note, I still like my android phones, but in the name of the wee man, avoid crapple phones at all costs. Expensive, fragile and vendor locked to the extreme!!

Stolen? Only reason I can think of for that scenario. I'm not suggesting you stole the phone btw. I'm just trying to understand how this would have happened.

long story but these are the facts my neighbour got the phone on a O2 contract and had it 7 months and lost it she told O2 who give her a nokia Lumia as a replacement and turned the phone off
she changed her sofa and 2 weeks later the person she gave the sofa to brought her the phone back said she found it inside the sofa
she went to the O2 shop and explained to the sales assistant what had happened and the sales assistant told her if she entered the details into the O2 computer O2 would turn it back on but a full bill would be sent out for the phone as she has been issued with a replacement or just forget about it and use it as a tablet so she give it to me and I use it at work with there wifi would love to be able to use it as a phone though but I cant

Ah right. Gotcha. It was lost, and replaced on insurance. It'll work outside of UK as a phone though, lol.

I've had my S3 with Three for just over 2 years moved my One Plan contract to a 12 month sim only deal at £20/month and bought one of these, Extended battery, last up to 36 hours as long as you don't spend hours playing games.

My phone cost £19.99 in 2011, and that included £10 of credit.
I put a further £20 of credit on it in March 2012, and there's about eight quidsworth left.
Apart from spam, I don't think I've ever had a text message.
I'm puzzled why anyone would want anything more.

The battery on my s3 mini was losing its charge in about 4 hours a while back, even in flight mode. Took a bit of tracking down but there were a few apps doing things they shouldn't have been Like "whats app" had decided to switch on auto sync by itself and had proceeded to sync my contact list constantly. Also I had forgot I had turned on all the location services when out and about with the g/f in London one weekend along with tube timetable live updates and such like. Turned all the battery hogging stuff off and back to two days medium use between charges.
