Ebay and vaping in the same sentence to me spells potential disaster.. Ebay have a policy which does not permit Vaping related goods to be traded, yes we all know that it is being circumvented in different ways, but the bottom line is, if there's a problem your on your own. Stick to reputable vendors and at least get a degree of protection from SOGA.( In my humble opinion.)

I don't know what a clone will be like but the Billet Box I have is giving me endless troubles.
When it goes it's great but 9 times out of 10, it fails to start or it runs for one toke then phutt.
A great idea, but the innards are c**p.

A great idea, but the innards are c**p. I'm very surprised you are having issues lobeydosser I have one and 3 tanks, I've used a billet bridge and diver v2 and cartomiser and haven't had many issues. Occasionally I'll get a dry hit with the divers but if I twist the brass ring back a quarter turn it solves it. Also if the brass ring is not tightened down enough you don't get a connection so you do have to tweak the position just so. For example I need to screw in quite firmly with my cartos as they are a millimeter shorter than bridge/diver. The only other thing that I'd say to watch for is teh batteries fit in very snug and if they pop out a tiny bit you can lose power so make sure both are pressed in firmly before closing case

Make sure your brass connector where the 510 pin of your attie makes contact is clean and make sure you screw the top brass ring snug but not too tight. Also make sure that you thoroughly clean the threads where the brass ring screws into and lastly make sure the threads on the brass ring are clean. 99% of misfire issues are down to grubby contacts. I have two original billet boxes here and when kept clean they are problem free

At the moment all it is doing is firing for a split second then zilch.
Nowt wrong with the cartomisers as when I put them (with the tank) onto an Ego, they fire up nae bother. Also the batteries are fully charged.
I have cleaned it until I am blue in the face, changed the brass ring, reset the carto a dozen times, still the split second fire then nowt.

Okay, despite the fact that the carto I had in, vaped like a train when I tried it on the Ego, for some reason that I cannot fathom, the Billet Box didn't like it.
I have just tested the Billet Box with a Meter and all seems to be okay there.
So I have now taken out the carto and replaced it with an old one and the Billet is working once again.
I have inspected the non working carto and the only difference I can see been the working one and it is that the working one has a slit whereas the non working one is a hole. Because it is working on the Ego, it is clearly not that that is causing the problem.
Maybe I am "old school" but I buy things on the principle that the more I pay for an item, the more "bomb proof" it should be. My overall impression of the Billet Box is that it is too temperamental and needs too much care and attention to be used in everyday vaping.

Sounds like you simply have a carto that just doesn't like that billet box, it happens. I have built the diver before now and it wouldn't work properly when it worked fine in an SMP tank, upon examination I could find bugga all wrong with it other than the center pin not fitting tightly so I assumed when I put it in the billet box the pressure was breaking the contact. Also check that the bottom of the pin on that carto isn't recessed at all, it needs to protrude and it's quite possible that it's being pushed in when under the pressure of being screwed in. The rubber insulator may be weak.

The clone is even less of a voltage maximum than the original, the clone Max's out @ 4 volts

Thanks blakey, Yes I checked the centre pin on the Carto and also the rubber insulator. Like you, I am bugga if I can see any difference between the one that is working and the one that is not. Oh well, something else to look out for when I change the cartos in the future. Can anyone point me to a video showing me how to coil a "Atmistique" for the Billet Box?
