jeffc - I really feel for you, that's such bad luck. If you were hacking past everything else in sight, fair cop; the fact that you and every other car in that convoy presumably have had tickets must have put a real downer on your weekend.
You should live down here in Cornwall at the moment, you would be lucky to get into third gear most of the time with the amount of holidaymakers there are around. Shame no-one has invented some way of using satellite technology so that everyone could, for instance, type in say a postcode or place name and a clever little gadget could tell you how to get there . . .

One course every 3 years isn't it? Can't remember if I went over the limit or not but sure to be reminded if I did

Sorry to hear that jeffc in 30 years of driving i have had quite a few speeding summons, about 9 maybe, all bar 1 were just going with the flow a few mph over and caught on camera.  Easy target i am afraid.
The odd one out of my infamous motoring achievements, was when i was clocked going to the local post office doing 34 in a 30 zone, got me going and coming back within 5 mins of each other.

But i was in the post office paying car tax for 15 min  and they had CCTV.
Still cost me a fine and 6 points. 
Just had a thought, my time on the M1 from VF was all 50 for roadworks  ???
This is one week i actually don't want the postie to come
