I picked up an 18350 caravela clone recently aand need to get some batteries for it.
Should I get flat top or nipple top? And where is the best / cheapest place to get them (any discount codes etc.) I know about torchy and have checked his ebay page. Seems to just have flat top ones.
I don't want to have to mess about too much screwing up the contact pin (?) At the bottom as it seems to cause the switch to fall apart when I screw down the locking ring. And also don't want the battery to rattle so thought maybe a nipple top would be better if both kinds are compatible?
Cheers

Nipples tend to be slightly longer so agree with ^^^^^^^^^^^^ Look here for a selection. Go for high drain IMR for you Caravela. I recently got some of the AWT 18350's and they seem to be performing well.

The mod i have is a 21mm one. Can't see how this would make any difference, but I know all these clones are slightly different shapes and sizes...
Also why are the purple efest ones more expensive than the red when they have a lower mah?

Also why are the purple efest ones more expensive than the red when they have a lower mah? Because they have a higher Amp rating, what do you plan on using it for/with?

I was thinking of getting a kayfun of some variety for it but then i realised there will be a slight overhang with them being 22mm. I have a kayfun mini clone which i'll probably bang on for testing it but tbh not really sure what attie to get for it as i would like one that sits flush

They drop off longer towards the end of their charge I think? Will probably give those a go if you recommend them @scooby. Flat tops I guess but still not entirely sure on that front

Yes sonicflowjoe they are 10.5A which for that size is high drain. Most in that size are 6-10A I've only had the AWT batteries a short while but so far I'm pleased with their performance It's important that a battery is capable and rated to supply the amount of amps drawn by your coil. See this calculatorA 4.2v battery supplying a 1.0 ohm coil would have a 4.2A draw A 4.2v battery supplying a 0.3 ohm coil would have a 14A draw You more than likely won't get anywhere near the limits but it's best to be aware of these things when first starting with unregulated devices. Also I believe that running a battery close to or at the max rating decreases their overall life. Another good reason to go with a higher drain battery. 10A gives you loads of headroom and is capable if you fancy going a bit lower later. I have a number of different makes of battery and the sizes do vary quite a bit, even with the same make there can be a difference between flat and nipple top. That's why some, but not all mod makers tend to design around a particular battery, usually AW. It's suck it and see there I think.
