I love it here - part1!!

One thing I've seen since I joined here, that I haven't seen on any other forum, is a move toward going the extra mile. I've been noticing a lot of members latch on to anyone struggling to offer a crutch and help find solutions for any members that are struggling.

More recently, and more impressively, I'm seeing members giving stuff away to help. This is absolutely fantastic, and 100% in line with the whole site.

This is what it's about. Never be negative as everything has a solution. And the solution could be rattling round in it's box in a cupboard somewhere.

We're here to help, and to share that warm fuzzy feeling we get when we do help someone. It's just great innit?

Ripshod I've often wondered why it would appear that AAEC attracts new members on a regular basis. Is there a single reason for it, or is it a collective thing. My biggest attraction at the start was the fact that you were not judged by the gear you had or what you were using. By this I mean, on here you were not meant to feel like you were being sent to the naughty corner if you mentioned you were using a "clone" ( and no I'm not starting a for or against clone debate here, only stating my opinion as always). Also the fact that Chrissie and the team run a tight ship and are quick to step on anything they feel might be getting, or could have the potential to get out of hand. Your thoughts ?

Registered and received the warmest welcome I've ever had on any forum. There's no elitists or mod snobs unlike other forums (which shall remain nameless) and everyone is always willing to chip in with advice and help each other out.

Yes. There's so much going on in the background that normal members don't get to see. I've been involved in building a few forums, and the work the staff do (volunteers every one) to keep things in check. But to be honest we don't get much agro here. Yes, members will occasionally disagree, but the measure of a person is how they deal with it. So many times I've seen 'we'll just agree that we don't agree and move on'. Soooo British

As you've pointed out striker42, the fact we can discuss everything, including clones, without criticism or ridicule, helps set this site ABOVE the rest. It's all out there, why shouldn't we accept and discuss it.

The reason we're seeing more members? Maybe a little conjecture here but:

1. Reputation. The word is out and spreading faster every day.
2. Google. Google results will include posts from here, making those questions and the advice given totally free for anyone. The fact that the main forums are 'open' helps here too.
3. A hell of a lot of new members are coming from the lurkers. That's how I landed here.
4. Our fellow members are a happy bunch.

One of the many things I like here is the inclusivity, everyone's welcome.
There's also a prominent female presence on this forum and that's always a good thing. Too many men and these things can become a basement dungeons & dragons nerd-fest.

I am a very new member here, I was purely looking for a forum that was UK based and stumbled my way in. I can only echo other comments, I have never had such a good welcome on a forum, the advice offered was top notch and the stuff one member sent me to help get me started off the cig a likes was like christmas

This forum, it's members, the help and friendship, advice and encouragement have been a massive support to help me develop my understanding and knowledge of vaping. It's made vaping more of an enjoyable hobby, not just an alternative to smoking and has, without any doubt, kept me away from the cigarettes, something I never, ever envisioned. The mix of people is incredible, the support without parallel and fun and friendship, well......lovely. Assuming I have now invested too much time, money and effort into vaping, going back to smoking isn't an option, so finding this forum has probably saved my life in the long term, and definitely saved my health. Without support stopping smoking is very hard: with the wrong support it's impossible: with folks on here...............smoking? What's that then? It is surely what the internet is best at........meeting and making new friends you would never have met otherwise.
So, thank you to those lovely people who keep it going, keep it friendly and keep it fun.
