Kailey... Check out the pic below... one screw arrowed in red only has thread so far up.. that looks like it will be your positive screw, the section with no thread on it will be where the insulator sits... the screw is longer than the other one, if you are trying to screw that into the base it will only screw in so far because of the none threaded section... thus will sit high... it looks like you have to switch the screws around..

Lol... can you not try and post a better pic of the top and bottom I'll try to get some better photos tomorrow. The lighting is too bad now for my poor old phone. kailey you need too unscrew and screw back and forth (don't comment you dirty buggers) so it loosens up the threads, it takes time but go back and forth. Thanks, Super-Shiny I'll give that a try once I've vaped this tank. I've put my first cotton microcoil in it and, apart from a little leak, it seems to be doing quite well. The leaking may be due to the post not being fully flush or it may be just my build. Not sure but I'd like to get the post sorted. By the way, I thought you had done a tutorial on changing these posts but I couldn't find it. I did find the cotton microcoil tutorial though. Thanks for your help with that.

Yep, the longer post is the positive and the space is for the insulator. I'm sure I've got them the right way round. I did check and I'm not sure the shorter screw would be long enough for the two insulators but I'll check on that again. Thanks for your help, @agenthoover

Sorry i did not do any tutorial on the fitting of the replacement kit, but i did go by the link you provided but i found i did have to do the back and forth with the post for it to wear in, also don't be afraid to use some force, the posts are very tough.

Unfortunately I don't have an Xplora, @agenthoover Ideally you could do with meeting up with someone who has an upgraded spheroid so you could try the kit out. I'm sometimes in the north-east (Sunderland) but I don't have any immediate plans for visiting at the moment. Another thought I had is that you may have problems with insulating the positive post. The spheroid has insulators top and bottom of the post but I couldn't see any nuts/screws in the base of the Xplora in this video. However, as you can probably tell, electricity is not my strong point. Even screws beat me sometimes.

They can be a very tight fit, thought i was going to break mine.
I did the same as super-shiny, kept working it back & forth but still had to use a good amount of force for such a small screw.

I have two Spheroids and I bought two of the upgrade kits at around the same time last year. Today I tried the negative post from the other kit and it fits perfectly. I also got the Heron last month which already comes with the screws installed so no problems there. I love these atomisers.

I wish they were 'tough' but JeffC kindly fitted mine and one post snapped on him! so I don't think you can go at them too roughly? He's kindly sent me his base for now but he's having to send that one to the menders. Its not as if I can ask GP to send a new single post :'(its not listed on the spares

Forcing any screw or bolt is a stupid idea. no matter how thick or thin it is, unless luck is on your side you only have 3 situations to end up in... stripped, snapped or jammed .. if they dont screw in smoothly and easily then something is not right.

It just screwed right in quite easily. There was no way I was going to get the first one to screw down. The slot was beginning to get misshapen and it just wasn't going to go down any further.
