something kailey said that struck a chord with me, the major reason I have meddled with different tanks, mods, wicks, juice was all about keeping me off the cigarettes. The more effort and money I plowed in (the early days) the less likely I would fall off the waggon so to speak. I cant bear wasting money! Now I am far more confident at rebuilding and have lots of options (including shop bought coils) the more I am assured about my vaping. If one mod/tank/coil doesnt satisfy me I have lots more to choose from. I have a plethora of juices, and a choice of gear to suit. I took note at vapefest and because there was so much of interest going on - both at the vapefest and socially I couldn't be bothered rooting about in my handbag for my mod (my hands were often full of vape goodies and a decent alcoholic drink) so I vaped far less than I expected and I didn't need to, I was just too busy having fun

It's true... really. eGo + 1.8 atomizer can easily be up to 8 watts on a fresh-ish charge. Really? What is that in volts please, I only know volts.

That seems to be me.
I set everything at 3.8v or use an ego, but prefer freshly charged to halfway. I know it doesn't tell you but I can kinda tell.
The only exception is ( well 2 ) the cartos you sent me boge, I'm loving those at approx. 3.6 not sure what ohm they are.
Other than that when I have had a beer or 12 I may up it to 4v with the mini p.

The boges are Low Res, they are 2.0 to 2.2 ohms ... using 2.0 ohm as a guide, if you are setting them at 3.8volts you are using around 7.2 watts .. if they are 2.2 ohms then you are using 6.5 watts

Just to confirm what's been said already about the ego batteries. I've just given one a refresh and straight off the charger 3.682V, call it 3.7V for calculations.

This one is an unregulated (I seen the insides) cheapo job. Ironically just done the same with an itaste ep and that finished at 3.582V (Must be on it's way out)
So we cannot as yet generalize when talking about egos.

Just a thought. This 3.7/4.2volt issue. One ego charger isn't the same as another, hence the exploding batteries??

There is so much choice, lots of people posting that they vape at much higher watts, lower ohms and the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence so that we often feel that we need to upgrade. I realised a while ago to only bother about taking "the next" step when I feel something is lacking and don't worry about keeping up with the Joneses.
As long as your kit satisfies you there is no need to upgrade, maybe work on reducing your costs or the size of your mod or tank, but that is more fine tuning.
(Not directed at anyone particularly, just how vaping has panned out for me)

P.S. - you're not using the tank that came with it are you? iClear30? Mine came with an iClear 16B - and thats still in the box unused as its a plastic tank and I don't like plastic tanks. I do see vaping as a bit of both really a way to stay off the fags and yet have all the enjoyable bits but also as a bit of a hobby too, I'm not normally someone who has to have the latest all singing all dancing gear I've only had a smart phone for just over a year, however, I do tend to like to buy the best I can afford when it comes to IT stuff. I did say when I started I wanted to be as faff free as possible so I guess thats partially why the egos probably suit me lifestyle wise. Perhaps its that I was expecting something more when I buy a device that costs me £40 than I get from something that cost me £6.99 - I suppose thats accounted for in the difference in battery life/time between charges and the fact it's got some electronics in it that may or may not be useful to someone like me at this stage in my vaping experience. It's not that I'm disappointed as such more that I was seeking reassurance that there wasn't some magic ooomph setting I was somehow missing or not using that would explain why this is just pretty much the same as using the ego or the spinner. Hobbywise for me I think where I'll probably end up is more playing around with different tanks, perhaps even look a little more into different coils and rewicking - I honestly now believe that I probably could build my own coils BUT I know I'd never be any good at it and will be far better off either paying someone to rebuild my heads for me or just buying in stock ones and rewicking or just keep on buying the ready mades from slowtech. I'm not saying I won't ever buy mods - I like funky looking gear and pretty colours so I could well be tempted by something for that reason for example I'm particularly tempted by the X-Fire Mod and it was a toss up whether I bought that or the MVP but at least I know now that I'm buying it for those reasons rather than any expectation that it might improve my vaping experience which perhaps I unfairly expected of the MVP, and that way if it does make a big difference I will be very excited LOL

So we cannot as yet generalize when talking about egos. No not really, fresh off the charger some will output 3.7v & some 4.2v. Rightly or wrongly though i assumed that all Ego type batteries were only fully charged when they reached 4.2v regardless of output.

So did I. I must've made the jump to big battery too early or I'd already know this.
