got me thinking. Did people pick a 'special' date to give up

I had my last stinky stick on 8th may 2013 at 11:33am.

I started vaping at midday the same day and haven't looked back.

Reasons I stopped was three fold.

One, my auntie pushed me towards it after suffering a major stroke caused by 45 years of 20+ a day.

Two, my cousin's husband had just started vaping after 20 years of cigars and I had a go. Cherry menthol on a 900mah ego with a ce4 clearo.

The third reason, and this is the most important to be honest. My children..

Not being able to run around after my two sons was very disheartening. I needed to change for them, and also for myself!

So I ordered a twin riva kit(This one) from vape escape and started using it within an hour of it arriving!

So to answer the initial question. No, it wasn't a special occasion at the time. It is now though!

15th April 1996 I was in a Coma with Traumatic Brain injuries, not expected to life through it but I obviously did.
I decided that on my 16th REBIRTH day I would stop smoking. 15th April 2012 I made the move. I've smoked some since then but less in most years than I would have in a single month so happy enough with Vaping as a Life Saver.

Stopping was a new year resolution for me. I stopped on Jan 2 2013 (obviously missing the new year plan). Never looked back

No particular date for me, vaping had come up on my radar for a number of reasons I just went on with my baccy in my pocket...seeing if I could avoid it... after a week or so I left the baccy in the car... then left it at home.... then after a month or so sold it all! about 2kg in total.. (y'know backups)

I didn't plan it to be a special day but when I checked back my first totally cig free day was Ash Wednesday, quite apt

No special date for me, though after deciding I must give up I waited till a Monday after a holiday, when got back from holiday a mate had been using a Ecig whilst I was away so went and bought one to try, been vaping ever since.

But I'm all for spreading the word. I've said lately that all this campaigning is pointless in my view as it targets the govt and media, maybe the statement is a bit too harsh but I really believe the target should be smokers rather than govt etc.

No planned date for me I bought kits and decided when my baccy was finished I would try using them as we had to do something as OH was being tested for COPD luckily his results were good and after switching he was tested at 6 months to the nurses surprise his breathing test results were greatly improved.

My first kit landed in the post on a Friday (our post gets here midday so still in work), I finished the baccy I had on me and there was enough for the last one on the Saturday morning and that was it, switched over completely and have never looked back (or succumbed to shinyitis )

I started on 19/1/12, which was also my mums birthday, it wasnt a planned date to start, just that my dinky e-cig arrived that day and I tried it and liked it and since then - apart from one stinky ages ago, been vaping
