Oh Fred,
Poor little guy.
I hope they're infusing him with a bit of road sense whilst he's there...

Poor little chap, at least pain is being kept at bay & he's resting because of them too. Wonderful how pussers love too small boxes to curl up in, he looks a spaced out comfy.

So, another wee update - no pics this time. We went to see him for about 40 mins, and he's off the ketamine and methadone, and moved down to temegesic (buprenorphine), so when we got up to the ward, the nurse took him out of his kennel. He proceeded to explore the whole room, clambering over any obstacles in his way! Once he'd checked everything out, he came to me & Mrs fred for plenty of love. He's properly with it, legs all seem to move properly, and he did open his mouth a couple of times. The vet said yesterday that he could come home with his feeding tube, once he's on meds he can send out of the building. Polly, our wee arthritic dog is on temgesic, so we know we can take that home, so.... We're really hoping he can come home tomorrow! He'll have to be fed by tube for a while, and mostly be on crate rest, but he'll be able to sit with us and watch TV and stuff Really hoping he does come home, but if he needs to stay, we know he's improving well.
Does anyone know where I can get 3 cat sized crash-helmets?

So, Sorry for not updating before, but been a busy 24 hours!
The wee man came home yesterday at about 5pm. Jaw wired together at the front, floppy cloth buster collar (MUCH better than the plastic ones) and a feeding tube in his neck. I have had to syringe 36ml of 'slimfast' into this every 2 hours - along with 5 different meds at varying intervals. The nurse said to try him with food if we want, but I'll probably be a few days before he tries it. Well, fussy bugger that he is, we got him some chicken and cheese, and tuna and cheese applaws (at a pound a tin!). Feeding guide says a 4kg cat should eat 2 tins a day. Greedy bugger has only gone and eaten 3 tins in 24 hours, as well as all his slim fast! So, we had to take him for a checkup at 7.45 tonight, and the nurse and the vet were both gobsmacked that he'd eaten at all, let alone that much!
With this in mind, he had his last tube feed at 10pm, under the vets direction, and only has to have his meds through the tube. He's going back next Thursday to have the tube removed, and in eight weeks he'll have the wires removed and his broken tooth extracted.
I'm as gobsmacked as the vet, but at least I should get an OK nights sleep tonight, and shouldn't be too brain dead tomorrow, through having to get up every 2 hours to feed him. He's even used the litter tray!
Unfortunately, he's still going to have quite a bit of crate rest, as we're a multi cat household with a cat-flap.
Thanks everyone, for your kind words and thoughts. I could be persuaded that they've helped him recover so quickly!
