Bought some pre-made wicks from fasttech a few weeks ago and today decided to give re-coiling a try.. I can't believe how super simple it was and only took 2-3 minutes following along with a youtube video I found..AND IT WORKED FIRST TIME That's my little paper towel setup I had going on lol. Bought the little nail care set from poundland and the "tools" were perfect for the job. Used the little tweezers and dirt digger(no idea what its called) to remove the pieces of the coil, then used the nail clippers to clip the excess wire away and then the little curved scissors cut through the excess wick like butter Put it back together and it worked..I'm so happy ..I'm on a roll, what else can I do lol

amygxIf you're not doing it yet have you thought about giving DIY mixing a go?

grats on the success. Move on to dual coiling those heads then onto rebuildables...

Well done, how does it compare to your stock coils?

Nice one, amygx & snap, although it took me a tad longer than 2-3mins. Plus, I haven't actually tried it yet, I'm still waiting for a coil change, but Sod's Law, they're lasting longer than usual.

amygx - well done, let us know how it performs, I bet it's better than you've had from a stock coil head! Once you've done it a few times, you will get even quicker

amygx - just a thought for next time, wiggle the wire tails off rather than snipping them with scissors. If you snip them off there may be a mm or so of wire left which *can* short against the base of the clearo, causing it to not work. Instead, hold the coil head between thumb and first finger at the top and bottom, apply some gentle but firm pressure, and then wiggle the wire tails until they come away. This results in a much closer break than can be achieved with scissors, and also removes the risks of accidentally cutting a chunk out of the silicone grommet at the same time! I know, I've done all these things - it's a learning curve

The coil performs quite well, good flavour and lots of vapour compared to stock coils. I did mistakenly put a low resistance one in it and when I first tried it it went off like a smoke bomb because I had my voltage set too high So yes it is better than stock and I think I've been converted so I won't be buying them in packs any more, I'll be re-coiling from now on and can't wait to do another one
