Gosh this thread is better than eastenders, glad the nic etc arrived, good luck everyone else with your deliveries. We live in the middle of nowhere, but luckily tend to get the same delivery drivers who know where we are, mits just rm that are unpredictable, but generally only in timings, it can be around midday one day, then not till nearly four the next, and so on. Makes postie stalking much more interesting

Makes postie stalking much more interesting Having the same delivery driver is key. I've worked for most of the delivery companies over the years in different positions in the company , to say the drivers get of rotten end of the deal is an understatement , especially if it's an agency driver. When I was working for one of these delivery companies as an agency drivers ( and I've seen it happen on most of the other companies too ) , there were 4 of us agency drivers and they asked us out of the areas that they had rounds for which ones we knew , so what did they do , they put us on the areas we DIDN'T know , even when we said , theother guy knows that area and I know his area, shouldn't we swap , they told us NO , and we didn't get any help loading or routing the round. That's probably why you see vans going one way then another all day , because they're being s**t on. One reason behind this and I know this to be a fact , is because a lot of the drivers are franchised to a route , so if they have a day off holiday or sick they put the worst driver they could on the route , so they can fine the regular driver for non deliveries. Then the poor regular driver has to play catch up all week.Added to which these delivery companies always give you collections that are miles away from the area you're delivering in and they also spread the collection times out through the day, so you have to keep leaving you're delivery area too. I would love to see a proper "Undercover Boss " SERIES be done on the parcel industry and have someone like Sir Gerry Robinson looking on and giving advice at the end.It would be a serious eye opener for most people. Andy

As a point of principle I will not travel to pick up the item. I have paid for delivery and will expect it to arrive at my house tomorrow. If not, then I shall start to get snotty, and that doesn't happen very often!! Good. I am sorry for being short chykensatoo much 3mg liquid...

Washing machine came. Guys plumbed it in only it's missing a seal on the spigot. Got another spigot (don't know why) but no seal. then the waste pipe started to leak. Duel fuelling friend came to the rescue. Am off to plumb center tomorrow sometime to get the seal for the spigot. Prayers coveted

I asked the driver if he was the same one who 'tried' to deliver yesterday, and he said "no, he's a tw*t, no sense of direction, and doesn't understand how to use a sat-nav". Explains it all! Wonder why these companies employ such people, I could do a better job
