I ordered some nic base from Vapers Emporium about 10 days ago and was informed that it would be delivered today. All proceeded apace, with loads of comms from VE and Interlink, their carrier. I received a text from IL yesterday to inform me that it would be delivered today, got an email from VE confirming this, and then a text from IL this morning giving me an hour slot when it would be delivered, along with a real-time tracking page on a map. So far so (very) good. Whilst sitting at my computer over lunch, in full view of the front (and only) door during the prescribed period, I received both an email and a text stating that the package was unable to be delivered due to there not being anyone in. The email contained a photo taken from the back of the van, showing the road half a mile away and facing the wrong direction. Now we are quite rural, and there are about 12 houses with the same postcode, but our nameplate is plainly visible from the road, and I really get the feeling that the IL driver just couldn't be arsed to faff around searching for our house. When I call up the webpage to try and re-arrange, I am prompted to quote the reference number on the card which was supposedly posted through my door. Well, that might just be a problem, seeing that no-one has been to my front door, and I really don't fancy venturing out in the rain to ask all my neighbours who has the elusive card!
Not sure what to do now, I may ring them later and act all disgruntled and see what they recommend. I could visit their depot 17 miles away, but really don't want to do this in all the holiday traffic. It also rather negates to objective of having something delivered, which I have of course paid for - grr!
Any other suggestions, folks?

Call Interlink. Now. Chances are the driver is still in the area and simply couldn't locate the house / thought he had located the house. Interlink are a pretty good company to deal with.

tomj777 - just tracked the parcel, and it's heading back to St. Austell and their depot If a driver hasn't found a house with our name on it, how could he 'think' he's found the right house!? Not a dig at you, of course PinkyPuff - unfortunately we don't have a hairdressers next to us!

Not a dig at you, of course That's a pity. Hmmm - named house - that's not so hard... One has to wonder where the card ended up (I'd like to think not on the drivers floor). It's not as if Lanner is particularly hard to navigate around... tsk. (it's okay - didn't think you were poking in my general direction).

We're quite easy to see from the road (not the main road through the village, but the one which runs parallel to it halfway up the hill tomj777), but like you I wonder exactly where that card is now . . .

Just tell them to deliver it. - and be pushy. Clearly, they never found your house and legged it out of there as fast as possible. They are paid to deliver it. Your house exists, you were in. End of story. Sorry to hear about this, but sometimes they just take the p***.

It's not VEs fault chykensa and we should give the kudos for being one of the few who actually ship using a service that permits the goods to be shipped. I know how you feel, got a draw full of those t-shirts, been waiting two weeks for a replacement psu under warranty for my laptop from HP

OH no, don't get me wrong, I lay no blame whatsoever at the feet of VW, they have been exemplary throughout, it is Interlink who are to blame here. Unfortunately I was out until after their phone lines were closed today, but it is scheduled to be tried again (same driver!?) tomorrow, so will call them and leave my mobile number so that the driver can simply drive down our lane until he sees me waving like a windmill in a gale at him, job done!

I had a PC components delivery from ebuyer once. Interlink (or was it City Express) came to my house, I wasn't in, they left a card. On that card was a "map" of how to find the depot. I went to that address to find an empty warehouse. 1 hour later after driving round 40 streets and asking 20 people, I found it in a completely different place. That was 7.55pm. They close at 8.00pm. Not only did they not care, they said I was too late to collect my parcel. The air was very blue in that building. I got my parcel and made a formal complaint. Never got anywhere, not even a "sorry".... Not a good day.

As a point of principle I will not travel to pick up the item. I have paid for delivery and will expect it to arrive at my house tomorrow. If not, then I shall start to get snotty, and that doesn't happen very often!!
