Okay, I give in. Rogue heads soaked in bicarb, rinsed in very hot water, and all had new coils and cw wicks. One put into a mini PT, and within 4 or 5 puffs, it was tasting really vile again. They are going in the bin! And to crown things off really well, I'd bought an efest battery for the sons VTR, and cos on the page on myepack a related item was a button top battery, not having any idea, that's what I bought! Yeah, I know, should've asked! Spent nearly all day charging the thing for him as well, as they went out! Aaaaaannnnndddd, I'd asked them to get me a Kanger unitank from a B&M shop we found I Harrogate, cos it came with spare heads.......and they sold him a mini protank 3......now it's lovely, but doesn't come with spare heads.
But it's still been a lovely day, and the mini pt3 is rather nice (can I put a single coil in there? Best ask before I wreck it)
Amazon do genuine Kanger heads, 10 for less than £10 free delivery........apparently

Thank you for the link cHooBeyDoo, I'll pop those in my amazon basket ASAP so I have new and then spares to make 'proper' coils for. Just a follow up to this thread. Phil, from Cloud Atlas Vaping, who is an excellent vendor and gent, emailed me to say he has contacted the manufacturer of the heads and will let me know what they say. He also offered a full refund for all the heads I had bought, and all within 24 hours. I am more interested in what the outcome might be. But a huge THANK YOU to Phil of Cloud Atlas Vaping for being the sort of vendor we can trust. Son and his GF are now firmly into vaping, he LOvEs the VTR, now has three batteries for it GF has protank 2 and airflow thing and is looking at more shinies and ordered mixing stuff too! I'll send them off with wire to make coils. They seem to be going home tomorrow with far more vape gear than they came with. And most importantly, they have discovered this fab forum. Thanks peeps for welcoming them, advising them, helping them. And if the worst we've suffered is a few duff heads.....we are doing ok. Now, must be my shinyitis turn.
