Hi all, I'm seeing lots of DNA 30 mods about, the title referring to the board/chip used. Are there lots if different brands of board used ? I've googled and most refer to evolv is this just the best known, but they all are pretty much the same in quality and function, what button presses do what etc ? I see a lot of varying priced mods from different vendors and understand that the materials and production methods may vary therefore influencing price. Maybe Super-Shiny or piper1 might advise me as a couple of our well known mod builders but they obviously source these themselves. I don't doubt the quality or build of yours by the way chaps as personal pride in what you do comes into play and you obviously put a lot of effort into them. The reason I'm asking is I'm looking at box mods as a vaping purchase and these are questions I have in mind when looking, whether thats from a vendor or resident mod maker. I have no intention of taking on the task of building one myself I hasten to add lol. I'll leave that to the more skilled among us. Thanks, Jay

Evolv make the real DNAs and Kicks, anything else is a clone. Personally I would not use a clone DNA board as it isn't possible to check the quality with out destruction testing a few boards and the last real DNA board I bought was only £42 delivered from StalthVape, the Evolv charging board is about another £10-12 from BarginVapour.

JayJ for a building a mod perspective and for ease of use i would say the SX350 chip as you don't need to add buttons for up/down as it uses the tilt function (buttons can be added though if you wanted) But if it is for a pre-built mod then go for the Evolv DNA30 chip. TBH i don't see much difference between the two apart from ease of building the SX350 and the extra wattage.

I think I would prefer the up and down buttons though unless the menu can be accessed zmax style through the one button. To me three buttons looks good. I've been vaping a year now and wanted to treat myself to a unique not mass produced mod something to show off aswell. Your good self and piper1 seemed to be among the highly regarded mod makers. I appreciate and respect your not selling your work now though.
