Ive been having a go at making diy liquids, so far i've just been doing 0mg nic, some friends have tried some of my diy's and would like it with nic. My question is will I need to just replace a small fraction of pg with the nic base. ie go from
pg 4ml vg 5ml 1ml flavour
to
nic base 0.83ml pg 3.58ml vg 4.58ml flavour 1ml
Or adjust flavour percentages also?

I'd say check what base your nic is in pg or vg. Substitute the same with your nic to attain the required strength.
AS in your example..
nic base 0.83 ml pg 3.17ml vg 5ml flavour 1ml
Or reduce the vg content if your nic is vg based.

Hi nehctik, Your nic base will likely be either PG or VG based, so the nicbase added will reduce either your PG or VG when you made it without nicotine. Flavour percentages won't need changing.

this might come in handy, just have a fiddle with the figures till you get your required result, tho unless you are adding more flavouring you will be diluting the flavour There's a calculator up the top there ^^^ that might help you too..

So my working principle, 50/50 base 90% + 10% flavouring, changing to 50/50 base (replacing a % of the pg base to pg based nic) at 90% + 10% flavour, so providing the flavour stays at 10% and I replace a fraction of the pg in my base mix with pg based nic, all is good?

yup. just substitue your nic base for pg or vg as applicable. Simple as that.
