yes, you can but pick an unperfumed and probably unbleached one!
you can boil and dry out first to be extra careful? but I don't bother.....

lal I use organic cotton wool but I know other people boil ordinairy cotton wool and use it. Personally, I'd only ever use the organic as I'd be worried about bleach etc

Yes you can. I get mine from Tesco, organic very big bag for about £2, lasts for ages. Used to boil it but don't bother now.

Thanks! I think we have some organic stuff, if it's good enough for my wee one's bum it's good enough for my coils! If you are using it on wee on'e bum, i would boil it before using it in your coils getting my coat
