Hi I got some silicone grommets. But for some reason when I use them the draw is very tight and getting very little to know vapour. Have u ever got this when u use silicone grommets? Or any idea wat I'm doin wrong? Thanks Laurie Just to be sure are you swapping the right bit? The bit a the bottom that the little metal pin slots into. Not the bit at the top that goes over the chimney? Otherwise could be compressing the grommet a little as others mentioned... (never experienced this myself). Or perhaps the coil is too large/ too close to the airhole / or too tightly packed with cotton...? [br Its definitely the grommet. The one on the right are the thicker ones I bought. But when it gives me the tight draw I replace it with the one on the left it works fine. But I don't have many of them left. That's why I bought the other ones. So it's definitely something to do with the grommet

xtc263 after reading again I realise it's very unlikely you're swapping the wrong bit. Thought you were more of a newbie. Didn't mean to insult your intelligence Sounds like maybe the sillicone grommets you got are too big then i guess. Where did you get them from? A website in America that states they can be used in kanger tanks. Also a guy on this forum very kindly sent me some. Same thing with both. And I get jonco to do coils for me as well. I sent him some of the grommets to swap out when he was doin my coils. Out of the two of his I've tried so far its the same problem.

sonicflowjoe hope you don't mind me referring to your pic I cant upload in my iphone. xtc263 on Sonicflowjoes pic you see how the post gromit sits leaving the wick nicely exposed to absorb juice. Check this is the case with your builds. I made the mistake of using a slightly deeper/longer gromits when making a single coil for the aerotank, I think they were from dual coil heads but not sure. The gromit I used was just a little to deep/long and it left next to no wick exposed as it sat too far down. This starved the wick of juice and after a short while it was giving dry burnt hits. I must have rebuilt that particular head 3 or 4 times before I noticed the problem. I hope that makes sense. Jay

On the pic i put up you can see the top sillicone seal bit isn't pushed all the way down i think. When it is pushed right down they cover the wick a bit sometimes. Might be worth experimenting with removing this bit completely. I used to do this and if you have a decent micro coil with cotton in it doesn't flood, just much better wicking.

Hi Laurie They were a pain to get in there but I fitted them at your request. I believe the problem you are having is the base of the grommit being wider as the airflow through the atomiser is governed by the hole in the positive pin. If you send them bac to me I will rebuild for you free of charge.

I knew it had to be something to do with the grommet as the coils u do me are always great. I've just been tryin lately to make some myself. At first they kept tasting burnt so I tried the silicone grommets of some kanger tanks I had and they came out fine. So I bought some silicone ones thinking that would solve the problem then this happens. Just my luck lol

This is one of the coils I made. I'm not using the silicone ring. It must be wat jonco said. Maybe the coil isn't getting any air through the silicone grommets. It does look a bit thicker at the base.

This seems to be a problem a few of us are having.
I have trimmed the bulging access grommet with a fresh Stanley blade and that did cure it , but the cut isn't ( and never will be ) perfect , so there is the likelihood of the grommets not lasting as long.
This is where we NEED a supply of the proper silicone grommets , there is a market for them.

I wonder where this person got them from, as they do look like the right ones. They seem a little expensive for what they are even with free P&P.

I didn't even know about that being posted , as I only really post here and are a member of a couple of other forums, but not that forum.
That is a cracking diagram that shows why though, great find.

I've trimmed the excess as well. That has solved the problem. Though like u say they mightn't last long now. I've also ordered the silicone ones linked on ebay.

You'll get there xtc263. I know it's frustrating but you'll get there. On average I allow 2 weeks of rebuilding to get the hang of rebuilding a new tank Just look at my saga with the taifun gs......that is normal for me LOL I had a similar saga with the davide mega at first!!!
