hi all - I have noticed this now already a few times - the last time yesterday evening : if you leave liquid in a protank 2 or kanger aero tank - and don't vape with this tank for a few weeks - the flavour disappears - no big deal as it's generally only a few ml - but this might speak against steeping with the lids off.

It may be the stainless steel causing some neutralising of the flavours. Stainless steel has the characteristic of being able to neutralise certain aromas and flavours.

Clivia! it's something that has me confused as well, depending on what you read some sites are saying leave the lids on and others take them off, I believe Rosco just chucks his in the drawer with the lids on, I bought some Butterscotch a few weeks ago and just had to try it, it wasn't bad so I've left it three weeks steeping with the lids off, it smells nice but seems to have lost a lost of the taste, so I'm lost! Just got some Blueberry from JJ so I think I'll try this lot with the lids on,,

That's a good point Clivia, I've noticed lack of flavour after leaving juice in my mini protanks too. Didn't think too much about it though till you just pointed the steeping side of things out. I always leave the tops on bottles when steeping anyway. Many a time I've picked up a protank with juice in that I haven't used for some time and ended up throwing the juice away coz it was pretty tasteless and I didn't even know what flavour it was supposed to be.

gill2009and mowjo I always leave the lids on - imho with steeping the time factor is far more important than the on-off factor

Clivia! it may just be I bought c**p juice, well actually I think that may be most of the problem so lesson learnt, I'll be leaving the lids on from now on though, just got some Blueberry from JJ I got the 40/60 with the 20% extra flavour, I tried it straight away because I couldn't help myself, Boy was it nice! I'm going to have trouble leaving it in hiding for three weeks, but if it taste that good right off I can't wait to see what difference three weeks make,
Toots! it may just be me, but I use the Eved Glass tanks and I've noticed that even leaving it in the tank overnight it looses a bit quite of flavour, yet in my E/Smart one it's fine, I wonder if it's something to do with the tanks like Brambles says,,

mowjo - in my iclear 30s's the flavour stays as it's supposed to no matter how long I leave juice in them, so I'm now wondering if lack of flavour is due to the pyrex glass. The iclears are not glass. Yeah and come to think of it my full size protank 3 and aerotank tends to lose flavour over time too, and they're both glass again. Hmm food for thought there eh

I think Brambles is right. I have one of those stainless steel oval lumps, like a bar of soap and it's great for getting rid of onion and garlic from your hands when you're cooking. If it can get rid of something like garlic, no wonder juice can lose flavour in a tank. mowjo, fruit flavours don't need 3 weeks steeping, a week should be enough for your blueberry Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

lairey, you just beat me to it, I knew that stainless steel was used to get rid of nasty odours but couldn't remember where and in what situation! I'm sure that's one of the reasons that chefs knives are SS too, so they don't contaminate food with odour from another. Come to think of it, I have also had the same happen with juice. I had some Fluid (strong Aniseed/Liquorice) in a PT1 and hadn't used it for a month or so, it being an occasional vape for me. Went to try it, it was very weak so I changed the head, still no change, put it away again. I'll dig out that tank and try it again with some fresh juice and see what happens - I'll report back later!

mowjo with the Joose Juice flavours that I have and others I've tried , I very rarely leave these over a week.
My ADV is the Caramel Blend , and that is perfect from 7 days onwards. You will taste a marked improvement in taste after just 3 days , but after 7 , just fill up and go.Also , Joose Juice flavours are nice and strong even with higher VG mixes, which is right down my alley.

I bought Epic Juices "Main Squeeze" yesterday it was made in April so I popped some into my Taifun GT and it is superb. Another one to add to my favourites.

Thanks folks! it was just on JJ's site it said minimum 1 week, 2-3 weeks would be better, you guys have given me good info so far so I'll try it after a week, just as an addy I tried my Butterscotch again, as I said it smelled nice after a week but the flavour was weak, I left it three weeks it darkened down a bit more and tasted a little better, four weeks now tried it again and it's better still, tomorrow I get my MVP with the iClear30 S so will try it in there, from what I've been told there should be a vast improvement, I found a juice I love, Mrs Lords and Co Druid, but at £9.00 for a 15ml bottle it's too pricey for me, anyone know of something similar tasting that won't break the Bank?
