I have 2 of the Astros and think they are great and prefer them to my Stingray clone.

You like your telescopics don't ya? Can't go wrong (if I dare to suggest) with a Nemesis. I got this one and I promise, it looks better than that photo. In fact I got 2 thumb up

I have an Atom, and I'm very pleased with it - cheap as chips, and as it's telescopic, no need to take a pocket full of spare tubes with me everywhere. The edges were a little sharp when it arrived, but daily use has rounded these off to a comfortable degree now

Thanks VapingBad nice to hear from someone who has used Astros and can give a recommendation. Ripshod now you're trying to add to my confusing by adding in something else! Thank you but perhaps look at this another time, looks good for that price. Any issues or problems? appreciate your help. I have never had a mech mod so telescopics look like a sensible choice, if that makes sense. Thanks also chykensa sounds like no issues for you and a good choice then? If this helps or adds to the confusing looking to also add a clone Taifun GT to this wonderful mix. Been off the cigs a while hence my reward!

You've picked the best of the telescopic mods. I've had three out of the four. I swerved the private. Astro - my carry about. Great build - I have that same one brass and steel. Atom - needs an extra ring if you want to use a kick, but equal in other ways to the Astro. Launcher - without a doubt the best firing button I've ever used, smooth as silk and no locking needed.. I got rid as it's a heavy beggar and the top cap is a bit rum looking. The only slight drawback with the Astro is there's no air channels in the top cap, so only usable with atties that have airflow rings or side holes. Or leave a slight gap. Hard choice between the Atom and Astro.

buggritt thank you, hopefully you can tell I have been looking for a while and trying to learn. I was looking to have a kick as this being first mod seems a sensible move. As someone who has used 3 off these mods appreciate your help. That also goes to everyone. The Launcher seems to have a great firing button but the top cap looks like crap, not to sure until I see it if that would bother me. These are not easy to see in the flesh are they? Anyone got any photos to put up for everyone to see? I can't be the only one thinking of going down the dark side:-) At this stage still have a wide choice with no clear winner, no surprise there then :-) I take it you guys have all bought from ft these cones and have had no issues?

The Astro will have a couple of threads showing with a kick in 18650 mode. I only use a kick in 18500 to ward off over discharging the battery. The Atom can be used with a Chi You kick ring, as can the Astro, available on FT for a quid or two. If I had to only have one mod, it would be the Astro. I like the telescopic pin. Only needed a smear of vaseline in the firing switch

As this isn't really a mod makers thread, I'm moving it to the shopping (China) board.

Great advice above. Might be worth chucking a nitecore charger in with the order as you can't go far wrong with them. The d4 is great if you want a digital display but the i2 or i4 are cheap now.

Been off the cigs a while hence my reward! Haha - I also have a Taifun GT clone from FT and it's a real beauty, by far the best of the cloned RBAs I have. Really well made, silky threads, a good solid feel, and it vapes really well. It's my resident Custard Machine and I'm using it at the moment, with a microcoil and wicked with rayon. Really pumping out the vapour sat on my Caravela clone also from FT, a very hefty combo for the evenings at home. Beats a Glade plug-in any day

I've tried a few mech mods now and the best I've found (by a LONG way) is the Penny I dont like locking rings on bottom firing mods, I find them annoying, the Penny has a nice flush switch, you can stand it up without any problems and (without testing) it seems to have much less power loss than the others I've tried
