The Vtc's sold on the FT website are fakes. If you want to be safe it is better to purchase the best quality batteries you can afford. Sub OHM users should be even more particular about which batteries they use. You may not like what I have said here but with vaping so much in the spotlight just now you don't want to give the media any excuse to crucify us for not thinking about safety. i thought the vtc range was the best quality, and battery of choice these days for most vapers that use 18650s?

You're correct, they're top notch bud, I run them at 0.06 and up and I know plenty of people that run them lower all day long with no problems at all.

Yes they are very good batteries but not if they are fake which can be high risk if sub ohming.

There are fakes doing the rounds, but you are the only person I have come across saying FT Sony VTCs are fake macmagoo, I have read from lots of people that FT ones are real, the 4 I got from them are real, do you have any evidence of people receiving fake VTC batteries from FT?

Fastech are not licensed to sell Efest or Sony batteries. That does not make them fakes, there are a lot of threads about that claim Sony only ever supplied the VTC series to OEMs which is also why they don't have Sony written on them, so by your logic all VTC on the retail market must be fakes. It is possible they have had fakes since a large US wholesaler was duped this year, though I have not seen anyone else claiming FT Sonys or Panasonics are fakes, quite the opposite. It always pays to be sceptical, I got mine from 3 different suppliers and later tested them over a two month period. I avoid buying anything Efest after owning and testing 12 of their products and the cynical misleading of their customers on the safety rating of some of their purple batteries. We could probably debate this forever. I personally would not buy batteries from Fasttech and if you are happy with yours, then thats all that matters. I first commented on this because I think that battery safety is one of the most important aspects of sub ohm vaping that a lot of people don't pay much attention to or don't really understand the technicalities of it.

I'm happy with what my peers report and what time and time again my DNAs, volt meters, chargers and stop watches report and I think if you go through my posts that you will find I have always been on the very strict almost paranoid end of the battery safety argument macmagoo. I believe in checking my facts, personally where possible and not scaremongering. There are quit a lot of members that have bought these batteries from FT and telling them they are fakes just because you don't like FT is not fare to unnecessary worry them, again if you have any evidence they are fake I would welcome that as is important information we should be made aware of. This is an important subject that I am quite passionate about so forgive me if I come on a bit strong. E: don't take my word for it if you like but I have always been preaching battery safety through knowledge and good practice link.

Fasttech customer services will tell you that they cannot verify that these batteries are from Sony. If people want to take a chance with fasttech batteries then that is entirely up to them.

There are ways of spotting most fakes, I'd need to search for the info but it is out there, there's the green colouring as well as the positive end, little things like that.
But yeh, if FT make a booboo they're really shooting themselves in the foot

FT have a documented policy of not confirming the goods are authentic since Inokin went for them early this year or late last year, it was all over their forum at the time. macmagoo you are tanking a "chance" wherever you buy the VTC as they are not a retail item and not available in you're local Sony centre. I took a chance after trawling the forums for the validity of FT batteries and then testing them for two months alongside ones from a trusted UK vendor and they are genuine. That is not a guarantee that they will never sell fakes, but IMO it makes FT one of the safer places to get them. Hot to spot one batch of fake VTCsabout 1:15 they talk about telling Sony about fakes that have entered the top level supply chain in the US.
