Hi all, Please select dates you are available, the most popular will be selected. We already have some great ideas on how to boost numbers. Any other ideas would be great to hear, pass the parcel, pin the tail on the donkey, blind mans bluff, musical chairs, strip poker,,,,,,,,who knows????? Also any input on venue. I got away with getting my £50 back this time, but don't fancy risking it on every meet and don't like the idea of charging for entrance or raffle tickets. If everyone is behind the motion I'll start looking for a venue that doesn't have a minimum bar spend. We may have to move away from Oxford Circus, but I know we can get a free room one or two tube stops away- anywhere that doesn't have a busy Saturday nightlife. Any ideas would be appreciated, but remember it needs to be convenient for everyone not just yourself, and that includes people from Surrey, Essex, Kent, Herts, Bucks, etc.(that sounds impossible)

Firstly your efforts are much appreciated by all of us seniorphil. When I first heard the Alan had lost the deposit on at least one meet and then it nearly/should have happened last time I thought that this is an ideal way for the sponsor to help by guaranteeing part of all of that. As you know I have only been once, but have no objection to relocating as long as I can get there from Hertfordshire. I also notices that the AAE-C, then the UKV were most active, but the POTV one was almost empty and maybe if a few of us that are members there give the next one a bump every day or two.

ronaldo ECF is mainly US membership, I did read it was started over here, but these days it's mainly (not completely) American. Very big, when we all first got the Rayon the thread there was already about 700 posts.

VapingBad, I like the idea of the sponsor covering our backs, but I can't see that happening(the defeatist in me), however I have more time for this meet and will have a chin wag and see what is possible. How about them sorting out some sarnies and Vol-au-vents?????? Turn it into a chimps tea party. I wouldn't really look at going further than The City eastward, Marble Arch westward, Dustin Road northwards, South Bank-ish southwards. I think we always need to be near a station and would be nice to have something on the ground floor. I will try to get myself a laptop, as this will make updating threads and bumping them easier. Also doing Twatter and Facebook, trying to do it on my mobile is impossible( I can't even post on potv without the browser crashing).

The city should have far more vacant space on a Saturday, but I've been out of London for 15 years now so have lost touch a lot. You could ask the sponsor to have a rolling fund that say covers 3 deposits a year max and hopefully they will never have to dip into it. I find POTV the hardest to navigate and only go there for the Mod Making section.

I forgot to mention, I don't mind putting £50 into the meet if it goes toward something positive. It being lost for nothing seems such a shame, I know I can find a room for free and would quite happily order up some mixed platters for you lot to throw at each other- there's an idea, how about we go for a different venue everytime, getting barred from a new one every 6 weeks. A bit like a stretched out pub crawl. When we run out of pubs we could meet in Hyde Park with a barrel of my homebrew!

Different venues how big is your place seniorphil , fire the hob up Only problem would be people getting stabbed/robbed on the way home. I reckon if people did show up they'd never come again. How about Edmonton Lea Valley campsite? On a serious note, last year for the November meet we used the Prince of Wales Feathers at Warren Street which was free, but I was contacted(after I put the feelers out) by dozens of pubs who were willing to have us and all pretty central ie. Holborn, Barbican, Moorgate. Some great boozers, just in areas that make their money Mon-Fri. I'd have to go on a pub crawl to check out the most suitable, but that's one of the downsides of the job hic-hic!

Great job phil I like the C & H, it's a nice pub, easy to get to, not bad reasonably priced food and drinks not the usual west end rip off. Just dont want to end up in a dump (remember Kings Cross). In the City theres a pub on the minories, half way between Aldgate Tube/Bus Station and Tower Hill station, not sure of name, but it's big traditional looking place, on every Saturday we passed it only people been in there were a few trannies, if it were vape friendly make a great venue and give us a laugh. Good old google streetview, it's called the chamberlan. Wont hear from me much for next few weeks as off on hols and net might be limited. MP Forget above, it's a hotel so bound to be a rip off. www.thechamberlainhotel.co.uk/gallery
