((((Josie))) I was going to ask if anyone lived near you that could help - looks like Jason has already come to the rescue I agree with Scooter. The Riva/eGo e-cigs are brilliant to get you started, but in the long run a good big battery holder does work out cheaper.

ha ha yes i was 9 sheets to the wind last night and trying to type with a skin full is well difficult! so this is what happened I tried charging my battery up and it was taking ages, so I took the charger to my mates and continued to charge it there, after an hour it still wasnt charged but when I unplugged it was really hot and the button you press, wasnt going blue or even pressing in. So I put that in my bag and it was getting hotter and hotter, I could feel it through my bag so I knew it was knackered at this point but my other battery worked well so I vaped on that but had visions of it blowing up, which made me drink more Then when I eventually got home, it was a 4 steps forward, 12 steps back sorta journey! I noticed my charger gone, it was definitely in my bag when I left my friends house so ive lost in along the way . I have my mini cigs which will do me for now and my others should arrive soon, id come down Jason but i am having my mother in law for tea, well shes here now cooking slowly as a type LOL! but it was a lovely gesture, plus my keyring should arrive soon, i can manage until then. Back to the battery it does smell burnt, maybe this is why i was tasting burnt? not to worry its not the end of the world! it didnt blow up and nobody died

Josie is the battery still in one piece, if so pull the top connector off with a set of pliers. just to stop you putting it back on a charger once you get one. would hate to see it go bang in your bag on a drink fueled night out.

Only just seen this thread .. sheesh if I'd seen it earlier Josie I would have popped over and lent you one of mine to tide you over till your order arrives , I was a tad worse for wear after last Nights xmas do but left it till lunch to drive home after a hearty breakfast. Then after an hour home it was time for a few hairs of the dog lol . If I'd seen your post within that hour ............
Edit : Riva batts don't like LR atties / carto's .. I've burnt 3 out.. sticking with ego and tornado batts

albavapours I am gonna cob it just to be sure, Ive a new battery on order so it will be ok in the end!
Aww Storm, your so sweet ive my keyring coming any day so can put up with my mini for a day or 2 so will last until then will take on board that about LR atties, in future im going out with the keyring one round my neck and dont care what i look like! But one thing I am real proud of is despite having little charge left in one battery, i still never had a fag, though it was tempting!

Well done for holding out, I think it's about time you seriously considered a lavetube, You can vape whatever you fancy on it and the batteries are far cheaper

To answer the earlier question a Tornado/Riva/Ego type battery should last at least six months although buttons have been known to stick.
The only trouble I've had with this type of battery concerned one made by Bauway (had a wide metal band at the connection end and was a different shape from others of the type). The button appeared to stick and overheat the atomizer - at no time did the battery get hot. I've had no problems with the standard or mega 510 usb chargers either. This all sounds very worrying.
