laptop I have built into my works van has given up it was 12 years old now for the work it does it doesn't need to be modern this one had windows millennium on I only use it as a address book it has addresses and phone numbers from around the world it also stores sat nav maps of military bases not the type you would get access to on a tom tom laptop required can be very low spec 500mb CPU would be fast enough 256mb memory would be enough 8gb hard drive would be more than enough needs 1 usb socket no other socket is required dosent need a operating system as I would have to program it anyway does anyone know of any cheep ones as it dosent really do much work and has to be built into vehicle so it wont be portable when built in

they are great but unfortunately wont fit in a ford transit or it would be great

ronaldo - if an old lappy would fit, a raspberry pi certainly would - its the size of a credit card! In fact, here's a PIC of the one that runs my chooks house.
£30ish, won't run windows, but 512mb ram, arm a7 (up to 1ghz) processor. Excellent piece of kit. I've got another one running mythtv back end with 2 tuners (2 channels on each) and xbmc. All my media needs in the living room, for about 4 watts! Serves media and teposotries to the rest of the house (and garden!)

will look into that one fred sounds good to me as I have a reverse camera monitor fitted to the van with 3 inputs front camera rear camera and aux and if its that small I will easily find somewhere for it would just have to move sat nav settings onto half a dozen sd cards then I wouldn't need windows at all only other thing I have on the pc is iTunes for music but could live without that
