Tells a lot about the high street phone shops.
Broke the screen on my Galaxy Y 3 weeks ago and sent it in to a 'reliable' high street phone shop. A week later the shop phoned to say they couldn't fix it and were sending it to a 'specialist' for repair.
Got a call from the phone shop yesterday to go pick it up. At last!! Went to the shop, money in pocket, only to be told it was unfixable. Wouldn't even turn on.
Wait a minute!! I sent it to them with a broken screen and it's come back to me failing to power up?? WTF??
Long story short. Got it home, plugged the usb in and the top half of the screen lights up and tells me the battery is charging. Left it to fully charge, pressed the power button, and I've got a working phone back with a broken screen.
What the fudge do these people do all day? Where do they get their education from? Whatever happened to common sense???????
Anyway, ordered a replacement screen off fleabay for less than £5 delivered, will be with me tomorrow.
Maybe I should open a phone shop!!

I sent one to HTC under warranty for a g-sensor years ago, they refused to repair as water damaged and sent it back with a deep 1" scratch on the screen. Now days my daughter breaks them and I fix em (2 iPhone screens this year). If your stuck for any of the tiny tools give me a shout Ripshod.

I now have 3 small boxes full of screws and unrecognised phone bits I'm not letting him near other broken screen! I stuck a glass screen protector on it and told daughter to nurse it to bleep-mas ???

I've heard iPhones are quite easy to diy, my note 2 screen got a hairline crack in it sent it off via bank insurance, cost me 5o quid but as apparently they are quite hard and not cheap to repair i thought that was not too shabby.

The main things that can make them tricky is snap together casing and glue/double sided sticky tape. The iPhone 4 has neither, more expensive kit tends to just screw together (not iPod Touch).

The iPhone 4 and 4s are pretty easy to repair the screen.
The 5 however is a real pain the the proverbial.
As you may be able to tell I break phone screens like Jane breaks mods lol

It lives!!
I haven't rushed to get it back together, even though the screen was only a fiver I didn't want to buy another. After all, it was the last chance for the phone.
Hesitantly pressed the power button this morning and all is well. Gonna take it back to the phone shop, when thay're busy, and shout it across the shop. IMBECILES!!
