With the impending landing of these clones at our doorsteps, I thought it better to start this thread, and save arron having to remember, for us all to share our thoughts, builds and problems. Not long now. Gonna go straight in with a 2mm dia 6 turn microcoil from 0.4mm kanthal, aiming for 0.8ohms, with a KGD wick. Too early you say? I trust my luck!! The race is on!!

Specifically ordered in some 26 & 28g wire as only really use 20/22g. Am holding off on deciding how I'm going to coil it until I have it in front of me to see the deck and what I have to work with. Am rather excited though, that's for sure

On the original squape r I run a 3mm coil using .3 kanthal. I've found that to be a great all round set up. A good place for you all to start from. do not put too much wick into the deck channels, it will starve the coil. Do not put too little wick into the deck channels, it will flood copiously. Its a balancing act to get the right amount of wick in there but when you do then I'll defy you not to be impressed.

I do about 9 turns of 0.5 kanthal on 3mm bit for roughly 0.6 ohm. works a treat on the wide deck.

I use cotton lace in the standard deck Not a lover of cotton/rayon/jap stuff But if you're so inclined you can get a very decent mesh set up in there.
