Generally micro coils are 1.5 mm - 2.5 mm inner diameter (above that would call macro, and no fixed definition), but the main thing is that in micro-coils the loops are touching (more or less, as close as you can get them) as opposed to being spaced, think of a compressed spring verses one pulled open a bit.
