So my device goes flying from my pocket in the street on Monday, I can tell straight away that my beloved glass drip tip is a goner, but don't realise that the Pyrex tank has also suffered a fatal injury until I pick the mod up and get a handful of juice and glass. This is bad enough, but I'd gone cold turkey over the weekend whilst waiting on a juice delivery. Bugger!
Not to worry I think to myself, I have a spare tank indoors! and I'm five minutes from home, Just as well I had the foresight to buy a replacement when I bought the atty. Hooray!
My joy is short lived when I realise that not only is the replacement tank internal diameter slightly too wide for the 'O' rings to seal against it, the tank itself is 3mm longer than the old one. Bugger!
I'm guessing the replacement tank glass I have is for an original Kraken, and they've made the clone slightly smaller, that or Fasttech simply messed up. Bugger!
I had a few more atty's that I could press into service but the Kraken is my 'go to', I had it performing just right. Bugger!
I can use slightly thicker 'O' rings and get away with it, but I'm not particularly relishing cutting the tank down. The only bit of kit I have that'll do the job is a wet tile cutter with a diamond blade. Bugger!

How about using some fine wet n dry, put it on a flat surface, add water, then carefully sand down the end of the tank , it should work and probably be a lot less dangerous for your fingers, lol

The new stainless tank started off life as a lump of 1 in bar I had laying in an oddments box and took me 1 1/2 hur to turn down. If I was going into manufacturing them I would just order the correct size tubing and cut them off to the desired size. a 5min job

The tile cutter is safe enough I've cut bottles on it before now, it's just not a job for indoors too much water flying about.

It's a workaround though.

Bloody mondays!
Out if intrest, how were you using your Kraken?
I've not even tried mine with stainless steel yet. I have a .4 Ohm single microcoil and duel cotton wicks. Works pretty well but sure I coyld do better flavour wise. Hits like a train though :-D

I've dual coiled it with the same set up but it's a juice guzzler. I tried 2.5mm SS rope but the coil just glows bright orange without getting the rope to wick properly, dry hit city! I can see why ribbon Kanthal is used with rope.

You might have sorted this by now....but how long ago did you buy it ?....saw this on one of the discussions sufie Staff Hi, everyone. We measured the glass tank and the height is about 20.00mm. If you received longer one to the effect that it won't fit on the Kraken Atomizer SKU 1530400, please open a ticket and we will replace it for you. Thank you for your understanding.
