Wishing you all a Happy New Year. I have been browsing the forum for quite a long time today after clicking on a link on MSE. I have had my eyes well and truly opened today regarding E Cigs. I am desperate to give up smoking and am very impressed with the success stories on here. My head is spinning.......there are so many products to choose from and I have been trying to get my head round which one will be best for me but I cant decide so can hopefully the experts will point me in the right direction. I have been a lifelong smoker and stupidly never worried about it until I started to get a cough in the last year or so since I retired. I will try not to bore you too much. I have never smoked during the day, never taken cigs to work or anywhere else. I never take cigs out with me at all. I mention this only because it might have some bearing on which E Cig would be best for me. I started smoking more during the day at home after I retired which obviously contributed to the cough. I also noticed that I had less energy. Anyway for the past three months I have managed to keep it down to two packets a week but it is still too much! I am very optimistic about using an E Cig. Could anyone advise as to which would be best for me please. I cant wait to get started.

Hi Bluebell and welcome Not many of the really advanced users online at the moment all sleeping off last nights celebrations I expect I won't recommend you a kit as others will be along soon, they keep their eye out for the best prices (that change from time to time) so you won't spend more than you have to What I would say though is this, when buying eliquid (or juice as it's also called) buy sample packs like pic n mix ones, that way you won't spend to much money but get to try loads of different flavours, our tastes are all so different that we all go for our favs This is a very good forum, with very helpful people, ask away as much as you feel the need to, we love to help and know how confusing the ecig world can be until you get started Happy new year to you as well

Hello and welcome bluebell, congrats on making the decision to switching to e-cigs As you don't smoke outside the home, a 510 mini might suit you, but im sure the experts will be along soon and give you all the info you need Happy New Year

Hi bluebell and welcome to the forum. I certainly wouldn't class myself as an expert, but I, along with many others, started with a Riva kit. You can get one here: www.vapeescape.co.uk/the-riva-1100-deluxe-kit~151Use discount code MC15 for 15% off - if that has finished code allabout will get you 10% off If you are happy with a black one you can get a very similar deal here: www.freedomvape.co.uk/shop/article_2001/Ego_Riva-Starter-Kit--XL.html?shop_param=cid%3D2%26aid%3D2001%26The discount code jan15 will get you 15% off, you also get a free 10ml of juice and free postage on this one Either of these kits will get you started and you will only need to buy some juice (e-liquid) to put in them. Most people would advise you though to add some cartomisers to your order as these are much more effective than the combination of atomiser and cartridge you get with the kit. Freedom Vape do Kangers, Vapescape do them or Boge. Get at least a couple and in your case I would suggest getting the SR (standard resistance) ones to start with. Hope this helps

Just to add a point about the e-liquid. Both these vendors do a pick n mix sample pack in small bottles - that is a good way to start until you find the ones you like best.

Thank you all for your help and suggestions. I think I will go for the Riva. The only problem now is the juice. I have no idea which to choose. I am sure you all had the same problem initially. I know that we all have different tastes so what suits one might not suit another so it will be trial and error. I would appreciate a few of your favourites though. I am not sure how many to order either....any suggestions please?

Hello & welcome Bluebell I agree that the Riva is an excellent starter kit. However, as you are a relatively light smoker (relative to me at least cos I used to get through far more than 2 packs a day ), if you really preferred a smaller e-cig, I think you would be OK with a mini 510 as Bel Suggested

And oops from me as well Bluebell - I should have refreshed before posting You really can't go wrong with a Riva & some pick & mix juice if you can afford to, add a pack of Boge cartomisers as well

Hi again Bluebell Yes tastes are so different, but why not go for a bit of each to see how you get on? I do not like anything to sweet, however, many do love the sweet flavours, the sweetest I go is Blackcurrant from FreedomVape, I also love FreedomVapes RY4, you can also get many other flavours and pic n mix from FreedomVape
Vape Escape is another popular supplier, they do Gritzwald pic n mix and are loved by many, there is a thread on here called top juices, will go and find a link for you in a sec and you can read through that and see what the regular members like :-) Back now.....

Thanks again folks! I am so looking forward to getting a kit. I am also looking forward to posting on the different threads. I enjoy talking on the net and making new cyber friends. Unfortunately not all forums are nice and friendly. After reading many threads on AAEC today I have formed the opinion that it looks a nice place to spend a bit of time.
