All I would say to Bluebell (apart from ) is not to worry - if you haven't got enough to keep you going a while, you certainly have enough to practice on, you can always order more - and who knows, you may want to branch out into something different. When I started (being a chain-smoker at the time) I told myself I had nothing to lose except money.

Thanks again everyone for the advice.
I have taken down the tree and decs today and am glad to see the back of them. The cats arent happy though... they loved the tree, its kept them occupied over Christmas climbing through the branches and pulling baubles off. The weather is terrible so I am staying in and having a nice warm lazy day reading yet more threads on AAEC....... I can feel an addiction to the site creeping up on me! Its so friendly and helpful.

Seriously though. The shiney's are big battery holders mods. Expensive to buy but a good one soon pays for itself as the batteries are so much cheaper This is my favourite, an old version of the GGTS -
