Can you mathematical minded folk please help straighten this is my mind? I recived my istick this morning and promptly whipped my kayfun off the Nemmy and onto the stick to try it out, wacked up the wattage to 9 and vaped....now...that was some throat hit!
I have been reading that the istick cannot regulate backwards so when it is fresh off charge, the minimum it will output is the 4.1 volts irrespective of the resistance of the coil and what you set it at, is that true?

Thanks dave that definately helps as well as the pb video posted above. The vape reminds me of when i was using a vamo, it was definately more powerful than what i expected for what i set it at. So and herein lies my next question, if i have a 1.8ohm coil with the istick set at 9watts with battery at 4v what is the actual wattage being put out? i ask cause it is a cracking vape and i want to try and get the same using the sam tnak on other devices

I am finding that I'm having to lower the wattage on the istick compared to that of the VTR. Currently I've got a little iclear 16 on the istick and am puffing away quite happily on a setting of only 6 watts. Last night I put an iclear 30s on it, normally vaped at 12.5 on the VTR but had to set the istick on just 9 watts. So conclusion for me is the istick is more powerful than the VTR at lower wattages. At least battery will last longer with lower settings

I don't get past the lower settings,as its satisfying enough. But good to know when I really need some 'Oomph' I have it in the palm of my hand

Lol I really must be in the weird camp then! Having said that the tank I am using was on the Nemmy and I havent a clue what watts the kick is on supposed to be 8 so maybe that is why I am loving the higher power lol

Mrsmac & toots You will find that you will use lower wattages on the iStick because it works out the wattage that shows on the display in a different way to 99% of other electronic Mods. It uses the "Mean Calculation method" as oppsed to using the "RMS method" of calculation this does not mean it is any more powerful, it's just a different way of calculating the output. The upshot of this is that you will find you need to run it at a watt or 2 lower on the display than other Mods. No biggie IMO just set it to what's right for you.

Oh, and by the way if you want to enjoy a full 20W vape you will need a coil that is around 1.4 ohms
