Ohm's law strikes again With a fresh battery you are getting about 4 volts which means that with a 0.5 ohm coil you are getting 32 Watts and drawing 8 amps of current. Your Vamo will wimp out at a much lower amperage than that - 5 amps at the most I would guess which gives you about 20 Watts max. You would need a higher resistance coil to push it up to its maximum.

Either use thinner wire or more wraps, with more wraps you are covering more of a surface area which should give you a better vape.
There is an article somewhere about "no need to sub ohm with regulated devices" and the myth that going sub will always give you a better vape (better = bigger cloud) will try find it for you.

It all depends on the maximum amps the Vamo will do. If it is 5 amps and at its maximum it is pushing out around 7 volts (to give you 35 Watts) then the resistance you need is indeed about 1.5 ohms. I'm just guesstimating though as I don't know what the Vamo can actually do. You are probably best sticking with mech mods of you want to go down to 0.5 ohms or less (with a high drain battery). I suspect you need to get into relatively high end regulated mods aimed at sub ohming to deliver high Wattage, but I don't know much about this neck of the woods.

Chears for the help will try and find some thin wire think i got some have been useing some 1 mm wide ribbon off a chap at work 4 wraps come to .8 ohm but the coil is huge and heats up like a loon on 8 watts(can case clouds on a 16350 batts )
Do think it was bit unfair off him to sell me the vamo and give me some of that wire lol
im gona have to have i weee think on coils as i dont want to swap coils everytime i swap from mech to reg mod
would i have the same prob with a higher wattage mod
sorry for the daft questions but being a mech man i thoght i could sub ohm in safty on a reg mod and maybe get more outa it
