Had this for a couple of weeks now (I think). Whatever tank/resistance I put on it I'd get a burn when firing from cold. Subsequent fires would be fine. Caught it just now, after setting the display to ohms. Been using a nemmi all day with my fogger, and I've just gone back to the BEC and first fire it read 5.3ohms. It's only when it's cold, the 510 is clean as is the rose. I'm now stuck with using the volts setting or sending it right back from whence it came. Anyone point me towards what else I could be check? Does the same with fogger, nautilus and aerotank. Or is it going back? Well peeved

Sorted it. There was some sort of coating/tarnish on the 510 centre contact, something that IPA wouldn't shift. Careful cleaning with nail varnish remover has sorted it.
That goes in my notebook!!

Nice catch Ripshod - wonder why it only affected the first "cold" vape though

I haven't a clue, bit of a strange one. There was definitely something on the contact, it left the ear bud yellow. Maybe a little bit of expansion helped the contact with extra pressure, but I can't see it. Since cleaning it's been 100% reliable. Gotta say I'm bloomin relieved.
