Battery charger sound thingy wotsit

I use an Xtar WP2 to charge up my 18490s and 18650s, and also am a bit of football geek. When listening to the match on the radio (on FM) whilst the charger is at work, there's an audible 'pfft - pfft - pfft' when the charger is going. Clearly it's farting out charge instead of continually. Nothing to worry about, just an observation. Davetherayon, posting randomness, signing out.

Most chargers do - they pulse the current, measure, pulse some more and so on. If you are in a weak reception area they can drown out the radio altogether.

Try moving or rotating the charger.

What can I say, I make lazy into an art form Moving the charger a few inches from the radio takes it out of range of reception, but the 'pff pff pff' gives me an odd sense of security as I know it's still working. I'm not paranoid, it's them other buggers

talking of charging.... I picked up a vaporshark with Wi-Fi card and charger, eek! it's a horror!

It just pings and beeps and flashes and drives me nuts. I leave it by my PC as the noise drives me ( more) mental!

A wee quote from years ago Pepperty works for me... KEEP IT SIMPLE. My big batteries are on the WP2, mods with pretty much fixed batteries (the ipv2 and Hana clones) are drip-fed by the computer. Minimise risk. I can go to bed pissed (often happens at the weekend, lols) and still wake up to a house instead of a burned out husk. Battery safety!

ah I'm always forgetting my loaded up charger, I'm a total danger! But I'm now sticking up on small gear with long battery life ( and usb charge facility)

The noise on the xstar is expected when listening to a match. That's it you see a X star footballer was turned into a charger by the manager, the pff pff is the charger cursing.
