Hi all, I vape like an alcoholic trapped in a brewery. I vape on either an Aspire Nautilus mini, which is quite good on the juice, or an Orchid v4, Kayfun 3.1 or Squape R rated at no less that .8 ohms resistance. The rebuildables go through juice like a hooker goes through condoms. My question is, and I know it's a difficult one to answer. How many hours of heavy vaping can I expect off a Sony VTC4 or 5 before I need to charge it? Or, what battery voltage is the lowest I should go before I recharge? I'm sick of putting the battery in a VV mod to check voltage before I charge. Is there a way of knowing when to charge that I'm unaware of? Any pointers welcome.

The higher the voltage you stop using and charge the cell at the better. I've discharged LG HE2s and Samsung 25Rs to below 2.4V. I do not recommend trying this though. Both of those are 2500mAh cells and hold their voltage under discharge better than Sony cells. Personally I prefer to charge at 3.6V but anything above 3V will be fine. I own a lot of 25R cells and use them most of the time.
Sony 'VTC4 cells tend to stop firing the atty by 3V.
I find I don't notice the drop off till the atty refuses to fire.
Most people do notice though.

Oh, and I'm using the Panzer clone (d=blue one), which kicks like a Glaswegian.

Thanks for the responses. So never go below 3 volts, charge as often as is possible and keep an eye on the coud production? Basically I need to carry a spare battery with me and swap it over at lunchtime?

Basically I need to carry a spare battery with me and swap it over at lunchtime? When I mech it, I take an 18650 to swap half way through the day and a spare. I've never needed it but it's nice to know that if I get stuck late at work or get into some nasty traffic im sorted 2 will be fine if your not a paranoid android

In that case I'll take 5 spare batteries lol. I never know when I'll be called upon to work late. And yes, my dog is the cutest, funniest, craziest, clownish mutt that ever cocked a leg. If I could train him to rebuild a coil instead of eating the cat shit, I'd have a keeper Thanks for the tips, everyone

So yes, take a spare battery with you & swap it over half way through the day

Noting your kato, in mine I swap the battery out as soon as the vape drops off, it really is noticeable, when on the odd occasion I have checked the battery voltage it is about 3.4 volts.

I would suggest the length of time an 18650 lasts is the same as asking how long is a piece of string , different factors such as the quality of the battery mAh ,manufacturer , how much you leather it , all add to the equation . I change a battery when the flavour or hit diminish no matter what the battery voltage is showing Ignore the new user bit over there <<<< I have over 4 yrs vape time under my belt

A vtc4 has 2100mAh, he's vaping with a 0.8ohm coil. That comes out to 22.05 watts. The battery power capacity @3.7v is 7.77wh. Estimated total run time 27 minutes (continuous) or 327 5 second puffs. Swapping vtc4 out for a vtc5 gives you 34 mins or 405 5 second puffs. Average ecig Vaper takes 1 puff per minute (mean) Vtc4 will last you 5h27m Vtc5 will last you 6h45m Not accounting for variables Battery numbers from steam engine. Stats from ecig alternative If you wanna get down and dirty with the numbers

Some interesting stats there Tom, and very interesting! I use a pair of Panasonic 18650 3400mah green batteries which are over 18 months old and still going strong. I take a fresh battery in the morning, with a spare in a battery case in my jacket/coat pocket. I tend to swap them over about 2pm, and that does me until I get home. Then the spent one goes straight into the charger, and then the other goes in while I use my 18500 purple eFests (which I feel are crap in comparison!) to last me until bedtime. I am thinking that I must consign the green Pannies to the backup drawer and treat myself to a pair of new Sonys or equivalent, as I know that after a certain number of charges (which I must have exceeded by now!), batteries fade away quite quickly - hasn't happened yet though
