Yup, no surprises there. NRT's are a big failure, because they treat the nicotine addiction and not the hand to mouth habit.

I think we all probably know that patches and gum are basically a pharmaceutical conspiracy to make us spend money, the last thing these companies want is for everyone to quit as they'd lose millions if not billions. That's why they are so against ecigs, because they actually do help people to stop (although that could be me being paranoid! ) I tried gum and it just made me want a smoke afterwards, tried the inhaler things and it was like sucking air through a straw, so i didn't even bother with patches! The only thing that got me off baccy was vaping. If this post needs editing because I've said bad things about the nasty pharmo industry I'll understand.........hang on.....a big black car has just pulled up outside my house!

You are absolutely right, Mike. If pharma had created the e-cig, it would be praised as the best quit smoking device to date. They didn't create it though, as they want us to continue spending money on their worthless NRT's and then later on, on their cancer treatments and medicine.

Like most of we vapers, I tried everything available on the market to try to stop smoking at one time or another but, because I didn't really want to stop and the cessation products were useless, I had zero success until finding the e-cig. Of course the big Pharmaceuticals loath the e-cig as we're always being told that the liquid is 'untested' and is known to be a 'deadly poison' (it's not often mentioned that eliquid is highly diluted). Of course, it couldn't possibly be harmful then to spray similar into the mouth or up the nose in the form of a nasty-tasting, licenced cessation product could it? Fox

No way would we edit your post Mike And as far as I'm concerned, you can say anything you want to about the drug companies. IMHO, they have far too much power:( Weird that just about all of the replies to that are article are in praise of patches, yet i don't know of anyone they have worked for ????

Coincidentally, I just posted about the NRT patches on another thread! I got mine 'free' from NHS cessation group, waste of time.
There's always one smart Alec with a comment. Taken from Foxy's link:
I beg to differ, I put two patches over my eyes and coudn't find my cigs, soon stopped. - Madbob, Davyhulme, Madchester, 09/1/2012 19:14

I don't even have to read the article , NRT is boolarks and we all know that , I was 40 a day smoker for the last 10 yrs , how can NRT replace that ... I still have the hand to mouth experience and also get my nic . IMO switching to a different delivery system has worked for me .. Vape on

Hubby did the patches the second time he gave up, no idea if it was them that helped him though cos after 3 days he forgot to wear them and just carried on.
