After messing about for the last couple of hours and several failed attempts I have just managed to successfully recoil a Kanger head using cotton wool One of the failed attempts I managed to lose a whole tankful of juice don't ask me how I did that but it happened and it was red astaire I am now puffing away happily on this new cotton wool coil for the first time ever I think I've heard some peeps say that cotton wool coils don't last as long as the silicon ones, is this true???? If so, I had better get a few more coils ready over the next 10 hours

The cotton wool can need changing every few days for a full on flavour, I tend to cheat and use rayon in my kanger protank coils as they retain flavour far longer. But cotton is fine, especially if you change flavours often - (ps I wouldn't vape a silicon?!?! hope you mean silica!) you just yank off the post, tease out the cotton wool wick carefully, thread another cotton wool wick and stick post back on (its the post I often forget and then flood coil) Cotton wool gives a far superior flavour than silica in a microcoil, plus they are also far more sturdy so you can remove cotton wool, dry burn teh crud off coil and get months out of same coil!! the fiddly part is learning how much cotton you need, too little - it floods, too much - dry hits. You will soon find out, its generally less than you ever think. Just fluff up the ends to fill the coil gaps Congrats!!!!

I need plenty of practice anyhow Oh yeah, I certainly did find out re amount of cotton wool to put in the coil, the first one I couldn't even get a puff out of it, it was that tight, there's was loads too much cotton in there, another attempt and I got a mouthful of juice - not nice I will try taking out the cotton on this coil when the flavour goes and see how I get on, but in the meantime I will make more in case I have probs replacing the cotton.

Well done toots. It's a very satisfying feeling vaping on your first ever self built coil isn't it!

I always think - if you can rebuild kanger coils, itty bitty fiddly parts that they are, that any rebuildable tank from now on in is a piece of cake after cracking these!

Well done toots. It's a very satisfying feeling vaping on your first ever self built coil isn't it! It sure is, I've wanted so badly to try out the cotton in coils and I've had the bag of cotton wool sitting in my cupboard for weeks now, plucking up the courage to give it a go. I must say the flavour is much better than I expected too now that I've got it working

We all get "can't re-coil to save my bloody life" days. You just need to put them to one side and come back the next day and it's all good again

Well done hun. In my protank 2 which I use most of the time over kayfun, rose, nautilus I use jap cotton pads or rayon as wick. Send me your Addy and next time I'm in town I'll send you some to windy Tenerife if you want.

Yeah, I've always steered away from rebuildables just in case I couldn't recoil them. I've got no-one over here to show me how to do it, not like all you's lot in the UK. I know you can watch videos on You-tube but it's not the same as actually being shown by someone sitting next to you, or them helping you out if you're not getting it done right.

I buy 5 or 10 heads at a time then spend an hour ripping em apart and recoiling them into 3 omh settings Usually have 2 @1.2 ohms 4 @ 1.5 ohms and 4 @ 1.7 ohms. Keep them in kinder egg innards with coil ohms written on the container. Got 20 ready made atmo.
