Not watched it all yet so don't know if it mentions it or not, but they used to put stinkies in ration packs for the armed forces during W.W.2. Mind you during W.W.1 comfort packs from home from Harrods used to contain laudanum, heroin and opium, wonder what the anti-nic brigade would make of that, mind you much like nicotine products today these were at that time still legal.

They mention tv ads and smoking in the 50s/60s but not the war stuff. There's a lot in there but obviously only so much time to cover a lot of ground. Well worth the watch when you get chance |
