After deciding to go with a re-buildable permanent solution for me and the mrs which would you lovely people recommend? We've been going with throw away 4wick ce4 (or whatever) clearomizers as a standard e-pen solution so far, decided the cheap ego-t or whatever knock off batteries they have on ebay aren't worth it build quality/consistency wise and as a recommendation from a few members on another thread decided to go with the itaste VV sometime in the new year - or if we are lucky santa may bring them early this year At the minute I'm looking at the single coil iclear16s as a re-buildable option with the coils from fasttech... 50 for $4!?!? yes please But if that doesn't work out for whatever reason I've decided the best option would be to go with one of the above 3 "pro" solutions. The reason I'm asking is because the look of the K1 is quite nice, but everyone talks about the Protank mini 3 and I've been told the Aerotank mini is exactly the same but you can adjust the airflow? Is is as clean cut as that? Is there going to be any difference between me re-coiling the iclear single coils compared to paying a lot more for a glass tank/metal tip in which i'm going to be re coil/wicking myself anyway? - or just buy a load of spare heads from fasttech Any info greatly appreciated as always

I wouldn't bother with the Itaste VVs had 3 and all broke in less than 3 months! Button and battery problems. My MVP has been working since April although not my main vape.
Like the Aspire K although prefer mini nautilus but don't know about recoiling.

I've heard the complete contrary about the vv, i was only recommended it because it's robust and good value for money. Taken on board though thanks for the comment

Well, just put banana from joosejuice in a normal clearomizer and it cracked instantly, literally as I was pouring it in and I put no more than .3ml in!?
I've read about this sorta thing happening but when I had grizwalds bannofee i used it with no problems whatsoever.
I read just the other night that it's due to ph levels of the flavour is this true?

Not sure what causes it but Joose Juice state on the relevant pages which liquids are known tank crackers with the phrase "DO NOT USE IN POLYCARBONATE TANKS!" Just checked and the Banana liquid page has it (and that's where I copy and pasted from) I have read that it has happened to other people in similar circumstances to yourself, a good reason for using a glass/pyrex tank.

Yeah I know, maybe a bit ignorant but I thought as I had no problems with grizwalds which also states to avoid polycarbonate tanks figured this would be the same.... Was a brand new clearo too ffs Was shocked how quickly it happened - literally as it went down the inside of the tank, i thought if it WAS going to happen it would be after some use, heat etc

mindyabiznis - Don't think its the heat that does it - more likely to be a chemical reaction. Hope you didn't swear too much when it happened

Best tank I've ever used and occasionally still do when not using RBA's or drippers is the iClear30B, used it for a few months now and never had one problem no leak gurgles or flooding shame I cant say the same about Kanger INNOKIN ALL THE WAY

Hi,
I might be a little late to this party, but I have some first hand experience with 2 of the tanks the OP is trying to decide between.
Mini Protank 3:
PRO's easier to clean since the whole thing comes apart
CON's drip tip is not changeable (Kanger seems to use a different size) Coils are proned to popping and gurgling (Upgraded coils, though I did find that the 1.0ohm ones were ok) Price... £12.50 in a local retailer (online prices may vary)
Aspire K1:
PRO's Superior flavour and vape production (I guess this could just be opinion, but the BVC coils seem to work very well) Can use higher quality liquids without clogging (I have used Ruthless (Rise and Menage a trois)) Price... £10 in the local retailer (online may vary)
CON's ummmm, I guess its not as easy to clean as the protank.
VERDICT: As I said, I own both of these tanks and use them regularly, I will soon be purchasing an extra to have a choice of flavors whilst at work, and I will be buying another Aspire K1.
However, this may have been said before, but depending on budget and intended use (for travelling it's a little bulkier than the k1) you might want to try an Aspire Nautilus mini. It will benefit more from the VV battery if that's the route you intend to take, and it has the adjustable airflow system. It's generally just a very good tank.

those coils from fasttech may be too wide to fit in the kanger heads. I got some a while back, before I realised how easy recoiling myself was, and they've just sat in the drawer ever since. you'll get them in but there's literally about 0.2mm space either side, and they shorted all the time. no great loss as they only cost about £3 but I would highly recommend investing in some 28 guage kanthal and having a go yourself.
also, never had a problem fitting different driptips to the mini protank 3.

The areotank mini in a nice well built tank with adjustable air flow. If you get the Tight coiled pre made from fastech they fit with plenty of room.

I'll add I have tried them all and apart from all my rebuildable's I've the two I use at work are the naturevape pro mini tank and Aspire K1. I've drilled the K1 out to 1.5mm and it is now better than the naturevape tank also you can pick the coils up from the vendor on here ZD Vape for £1.40 per coil if buy more than 5 and now I have plenty of coils for it I'm going to have a go at rebuildabling it coz with the new size air hole wicking it with cotton will give the best flavour.
